The stealth segments in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 aren’t always easy. Guards are quite attentive and are often watching the doors and gates you need to go through. Distracting guards will help you a lot as you try to stay out of danger.

Rather than waiting for enemies to move away from the area, you can throw stones and rocks to distract them. By throwing a stone close to where an NPC is, they’ll turn around to look at the noise and check out what happened. That’ll give you the chance to creep through the door or room they previously had their eye on. You still need to be quiet, though.
How To Throw Stones
You’ll be taught how to throw stones when you first start the game, but it’s very easy to forget. Also, throwing stones doesn’t work quite how you’d expect it to.
To throw a stone, you first need to crouch by pressing the right thumbstick in on controller, or C on PC. Then, aim where you’d like to throw the stone and press R1/RB on PlayStation and Xbox respectively, or G if you’re on PC.
For some reason, Henry cannot throw stones while standing up. You have to crouch before you throw them. While crouched, be careful where you’re aiming the rock.
When You Should Throw Stones
The best time to use stones is when you’re quietly creeping around restricted areas. You can use them to distract guards and get them to move away from your position. You can also make them turn their backs and then stealth kill them.
You can also use rocks to knock down nests that are scattered around the wilderness in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You’ll spot them when you ride past trees and through forest. If you knock down a nest with a rock, you may get some rewards from it, including dice badges.
Don’t throw stones at people as they’ll ask you to pay a fine if you hit them. They don’t do damage, just annoying them instead.
