Reiju’s role in the series is fascinating because she is both a victim and a survivor of her family’s cruel ambitions. As the only girl child of Judge Vinsmoke, she was modified from birth to be stronger than normal humans, just like her brothers. She was never meant to be the hero of her own story but was conditioned to follow orders and another pawn in Judge’s conquest. Instead, she chose to be the one person in Sanji’s life who showed him kindness when no one else would.

Reiju’s childhood was filled with cruelty, and when her brothers and father saw Sanji as a failure, she was the only one who acknowledged his pain. Reiju could have simply accepted her role within Germa 66, becoming just another weapon for her father’s ambitions. Her father, Kyros, was the kingdom’s strongest warrior and her mother, Scarlett, was a princess who gave up her title for love, only to be murdered by Donquixote Doflamingo. Hence, Rebecca was left to fend for herself. She fought in the Colosseum, even though there were many stronger fighters than she was. Also, she plays a crucial role in restoring the true royal bloodline. When the truth about her father, Kyros is finally revealed, Rebecca’s status as a princess is restored. In the end, she ensures that Dressrosa’s future is in the right hands.

In the Dressrosa arc, Viola was once a beloved princess of the Riku royal family, living under the just rule of her father, King Riku. However, everything changed when Doflamingo staged a coup, using his devil fruit power to make the king a ruthless tyrant. At first glance, Shirahoshi seems to be the least capable princess. She’s emotional, frequently cries, and spends much of her early introduction locked away in a tower, seemingly helpless. However, as her character unfolds, it becomes evident that she is not just a princess; she is a living legend whose existence will threaten the balance of power in the world. Shirahoshi is Poseidon, one of the three Ancient Weapons. This means she can command the Sea Kings and to the World Government; her existence is a threat that cannot be ignored. This places Shirahoshi in a unique position compared to some other princesses in One Piece.

Also, for ten years, she kept the truth about her mother’s assassination by Hody Jones a secret because of her understanding of her mother’s desire for peace. Monkey D. Luffy, who normally has no patience for hesitation, recognizes this in her. When she breaks down, apologizing for being weak, Luffy doesn’t scold her. Instead, he tells her, “You’ve been so strong.” Unlike some other princesses whose story might have been concluded in their arcs, Shirahoshi’s story is far from over.
