While Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is overall a worse game than its predecessor because of the puzzling decision to integrate an open world, it improved on other aspects of the first game. Combat felt more fluid and guns were removed altogether to make melee attacks a priority.

This was a good change, with Faith dashing around to slide tackle enemies and then barrage them with punches. The best part about Catalyst‘s combat system is that it’s simple yet engaging enough to let players enjoy a sense of satisfaction whenever they emerge victorious in a tough melee encounter.
