Before the actress confirmed her exit from the show, fans assumed that it was probably because her character’s story arc wasn’t essential to the main plot, and with the addition of new characters in season 2, there probably wouldn’t be enough room for Yoko to return. Ogawa later stated that the decision to leave was a very hard one to make; however, due to scheduling conflicts and the lack of potential character development, she decided not to be a part of the Wednesday season 2 cast.
