The Monk class is one of the most underrated classes in Baldur’s Gate 3. These melee combat warriors use Ki points, which allow them to use special abilities. They are also proficient in Constitution, Dexterity, and Wisdom.

Monks tend to get up close and personal during combat in BG3, due to them specializing in melee combat. They have four subclasses: Way of the Drunken Master, Way of the Four Elements, Way of the Open Hand, and Way of the Shadow.

Next is a mod that offers a wider range of equipment for those playing the Monk class in Baldur’s Gate 3. Monks get a pretty bad deal when it comes to in-game equipment, as they don’t have as much to choose from as some of the other classes. However, this mod changes that by providing new choices to enhance the Monk’s unarmed combat.

With this mod, ten items specially curated for the Monk are added to each act of the game. This includes amulets, rings, weapons, and clothing pieces.

Monk Unleashed – The Way Of Ki

The Way of Ki adds more Ki points for the Monk class, while also adding some extra features that allow the Monk to strike down their foes with more ferocity.

Some of the features that players can enjoy with this mod include two additional Ki Points as well as Blindsight, Alert Feat, and Mobile Feat. These feats aid with mobility, making maneuvering the battlefield all the more quick and efficient. There are also additional, optional features, such as the bonus action Fast & Furious Hands. Much like the Way of the Astral Self, Way of the Ascendant Dragon is a canon skill for the Monk class in the Dungeons & Dragons world. It is taken from Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons, another sourcebook for the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons.

The mod allows players to channel the spirit of dragons and use their power to enhance their unarmed strike with dragon’s breath essence. This becomes more powerful as players level up the subclass and add more draconic elements, such as spectral dragon wings that increase speed and a protective dragon spirit.

Sam’s Monk Backpack

This next mod doesn’t add anything to the gameplay for the class, but it does offer some additional cosmetic options. Sam’s Monk Backpack offers eighteen outfits for the Monk class, all of which work with body type one and body type two. The outfits can also be used for strong body types. As well as boots, hand wraps, clothes, a hood, and a circlet, there are also some weapon cosmetics included in this mod (bows and quarterstaffs).

It is another subclass taken directly from a supplement to the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. This time around, the subclass in question can be found within the regional sourcebook, Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide.

This subclass is focused on the mechanics and meanings that surround death. Players take their learned knowledge on the subject and channel it into their unarmed combat style, making for a particularly unique Monk subclass.

Those who enjoy instilling fear into their enemies during combat are sure to enjoy this mod, as it allows players to terrify and unsettle their foes once they reach a certain level.
