Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has rolled out the game’s newest Selection Pack for February 2025, introducing a powerful ‘Tier 0’ engine with the addition of the “Fiendsmith” archetype. The massively popular digital trading card game from Konami has seen multiple major additions shake up the game throughout its recent update. January’s Selection Pack introduced the notorious “Mulcharmy” cards to the game, a series of “hand trap” cards with powerful draw effects that are expected to be some of the game’s most-played cards. Now, another dominant series of cards is joining the game with February’s update.
While Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel features a wide variety of cards that have been restricted for physical play, the game’s competitive meta has largely mirrored the physical game. Decks like “Tenpai Dragon,” “Snake-Eye,” and “Yubel” have dominated in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel following their release, often seeing sweeping changes from the game’s banlist updates. Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has also regularly featured competitive events for players to test their skills against others, including the “Duelist Cup” and “World Championships Qualifier” events. The digital TCG will now see one of the physical game’s most powerful recent archetypes added to the game.

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel officially debuted its newest Selection Pack, titled “The Forbidden Liberated,” on Thursday, introducing several new themes to the game. The Selection Pack is headlined by the release of the “Fiendsmith” cards, with the engine providing a powerful resource loop which can generate additional negates and interruptions. The pack also adds the “Azamina” and “Millennium” cards to Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, with the latter featuring new versions of several classic Monsters. “The Forbidden Liberated” packs will be available for players to purchase for 2 months, set to run through April 10.
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel Adds New February 2025 Selection Pack
The addition of the “Fiendsmith” cards to Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is expected to have a major impact on the game’s competitive meta. The cards can be played in most decks as an “engine,” both providing extra materials for Summons and “Fiendsmith’s Desirae” offering a multiple negate effect. The “Fiendsmith” archetype has also often been used as a resource for summoning Xyz Monsters, combining with cards like “Necroquip Princess” to summon powerful Rank 6 Xyz Monsters like “Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal.”
