Summary

  • WWE 2K25 will feature Prime Hydration bottles as weapons, expanding the weapon options for players.
  • Prime has been heavily featured on WWE programming in recent years.

WWE 2K25 will include the Prime Hydration Station and its individual drink bottles as interactive weapons, according to a report based on a session with a preview build of the upcoming wrestling game. Visual Concepts has focused on adding more weapons in recent years, and WWE 2K25 seems to be no exception to this trend.

Anyone watching WWE broadcasts or streams over the last several months can’t have ignored the presence of Logan Paul’s Prime Hydration advertising. Prime secured a spot as the first-ever advertising logo at the center of a WWE ring, wrestlers sometimes use the Hydration Station to grab a refreshing drink or as an object to toss opponents into, and Paul himself is occasionally accompanied to the ring by a walking Prime mascot during his matches.

WWE 2K25 Underground Match Hands-on Preview: Unleashing the Samoan Werewolf

To properly check out Underground Matches in WWE 2K25, I decided to play the Samoan Werewolf Jacob Fatu and face a gauntlet of his own family.

Game Rant’s own hands-on preview of WWE 2K25 has revealed some good things coming in the historic wrestling game series, including some classic matches in Showcase Mode with expertly delivered narration by Paul Heyman and the highly requested addition of intergender wrestling. However, one detail from the preview event briefly noted on by United Kingdom-based publication Metro is that the Prime Hydration Station has been added at ringside as an object that can be interacted with in a variety of ways, from tossing opponents into it to grabbing bottles to be used as weapons.

WWE 2K25 Adds Prime Hydration Station Weapons

Water bottles were added as a weapon in WWE 2K24, allowing players to smash each other with them and incorporating the thrown weapon technique that was also added with last year’s entry in the series. Reports are showing that those same tactics can be used with Prime, but they aren’t the only ones. Released video has also shown that players can grab an oversized bottle of Prime that comes up to about waist height and can use it to assist them in delivering an atomic drop to opponents, lifting them from behind before jamming their tailbone against the amusingly large bottle’s lid.

The addition of Prime weapons isn’t the only improvement players should expect when WWE 2K25 releases on March 14, just a little over a month before WrestleMania 41. WWE 2K25‘s new Island Mode will introduce a new quest-based system as players compete in a number of themed arenas in an effort to impress the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Additionally, after only minor improvements in last year’s installment, Backstage Brawl matches will get two new venues in the form of the NXT Parking Lot and the WWE Archives, and there has reportedly been a big improvement to character models, including former WWE Women’s Champion Bayley, who reacted negatively to her WWE 2K24 model.
