In the world of Sakamoto Day, The Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA) is the official and largest assassin organization based in Japan. Spanning over one thousand members out of which four hundred of them are professional assassins, the JAA holds the majority of the assassin market.
They are well known for providing a variety of services, such as weapons manufacturing, repairing places in public that were damaged by assassins and much more. This is how strong of a power the JAA has in Japan. While Sakamoto had no intentions of leaking this kind of information, the JAA takes deserters very seriously and cannot take a risk on a former assassin. According to the JAA, it is much safer to have him eliminated rather than having him alive and walking around with top-secret information. There is also the chance of Sakamoto using the information as leverage against the JAA if he is pushed. The JAA and practically a majority of assassins are aware of Sakamoto’s reputation and, if needed, he could easily wipe out the entire JAA and its assassins if he wanted to. There is speculation that Sakamoto’s disappearance may also motivate other assassins to follow in his footsteps and choose to escape the JAA, making it difficult for the JAA to retain their assassins.
