IEM Katowice 2025 Grand Final Preview
IEM Katowice 2025 is one of the biggest tournaments in the CS2 tournament schedule. As such, the Final of this event, this time between Vitality and Spirit, is often among the biggest matches of these players’ careers.
- Spirit are looking to become back-to-back IEM Katowice champions after their breakthrough victory in 2024.
- Vitality have never won IEM Katowice before, and it remains the biggest trophy both apEX and ZywOo have never won.
What makes this match so unique is that Spirit and Vitality very rarely come up against one another. They last met in October 2024, but only played each other three times throughout the year. For context, Spirit and NAVI have already played each other three times in 2025. With ropz replacing Spinx on Vitality, all previous results go out of the window, too.
In terms of narrative, Spirit are looking to become back-to-back IEM Katowice winners, having also won their last two events in BLAST Bounty and the Perfect World Shanghai Major. It’s a trophy that has eluded Vitality over the years. In fact, they’ve never even come close. Their last trophy win was at IEM Cologne 2024, so this would be another massive one to add to the trophy cabinet.

Vitality vs. Spirit Match Predictions
According to the CS2 odds, Team Spirit are narrow favorites to take home the IEM Katowice 2025 trophy. I’d agree with that, overall, given the fact that donk doesn’t look like slowing down at all. They’re a little warmer in the arena environment, too, having come through the Quarter-Finals, whereas Vitality instantly secured a Semi-Final berth. On the day, though, anything can happen.
This will be a series decided by its stars. ZywOo on one, donk on the other. In the best-of-five format, these two will have plenty of moments to make magic happen. By the numbers, they’re the two best players at IEM Katowice 2025, but donk’s stats are over 14 matches, whereas ZywOo’s are over nine. Advantage, donk.

Taking a look at the map pool, I’ve got to favor Spirit, too. Vitality will remove Ancient, a favorite of Spirit’s, while Spirit will remove Inferno, one Vitality are very comfortable on. Spirit will want to play Train early, given they have more reps on the map than Vitality in competitive play. I think that will make a big difference in deciding the end result of this one.
Given the high quality of these two teams, Total Maps Played markets could be worth a look. They’re going to be trading blows, so I’d be surprised to see a blowout. Pistol Round Score markets will also be interesting, given Vitality have a 72.2% win rate at IEM Katowice and Spirit a 57.1% win rate.
