Widowhail Crude Bow Unique is one of the most cost-efficient weapons for a Ranger in Path of Exile 2. Thanks to its relatively high drop rate and low RNG compared to other items, whichmakes getting a perfectly rolled Widowhail a real possibility instead of a pipe dream.
Widowhail is in the enviable position of being not only an extremely powerful late-game weapon with the right setup but an excellent leveling unique as well, as it’s equippable very early on in the campaign.

How to Get Widowhail Crude Bow in PoE 2
There are three main ways of obtaining a Widowhail in Path of Exile 2.
- Random drop from enemies.
- Using an Orb of Chance.
- Trading with other players.
Random Drop
Despite its desirability and value, Widowhail is actually a fairly common drop from level 25+ monsters. This means players have a chance of obtaining a Widowhail starting from Act 2 of the campaign.
While players cannot increase the chance of Widowhail in particular dropping, they can influence the overall drop rate to increase the frequency of uniques dropping by putting on ‘Increased rarity of items found’ gear and grinding juiced Waystones in the endgame.
Orb of Chance
It’s possible to get a Widowhail by using an Orb of Chance on a white Crude Bow. While this method does work, it is not the best way of getting a Widowhail. This is because the item drops often enough that its price on the trade site is not very high, and using an Orb of Chance has a relatively high failure rate, and it is a currency that’s better used to gamble for items like Astramentis, Dream Fragments, and Headhunter. This is also why you won’t even find many white Crude Bows for sale.
Trade with Players
In both Softcore and Hardcore leagues, the trade site is the best way to secure a good Widowhail. Fortunately, thanks to its relatively high drop rate, it can be found for a relatively low price if you get lucky with the sellers.
How Does Widowhail Work in PoE 2
Widowhail is one of the most cost-efficient weapons in all of Path of Exile 2, as it can serve as a force multiplier for a powerful Quiver in a way that no other bow can. The idea behind Widowhail is that its own damage stats don’t matter. It’s all about getting at least more than 220% on its only modifier: “increased bonuses gained from Equipped Quiver.” Essentially, this takes all of a Quiver’s stats and multiplies it by 2.5x at its best or 1.5x at its worst.
In an ideal world, you will want to get a 250%+ Widowhail, but these perfectly rolled bows are quite expensive. Luckily, you can get a nearly as powerful Widowhail with 240-248% for much, much cheaper.
