In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a dagger is one of the key tools in Henry’s arsenal, meant to provide him with the ability to take down opponents quickly and quietly without being seen or heard.
While it is easy to buy one from Blacksmith Radovan, it costs Groschen to do so, and in the early game, Henry doesn’t have a lot of it to go around. Here’s how to get a free dagger very early in the campaign of KCD 2.

How to Get a Free Dagger in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
A free dagger can be found in the Miller’s shack in Lower Semine, southwest of Troskowitz, the starting town in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Players can easily walk on foot to this location within a few minutes, though the journey is easier on a horse. Luckily, you can find a free horse being sold by the Horse Trader at Semine as part of ‘The Jaunt’ questline. Provided, of course, you pass the associated dialogue check and convince him that you were a part of the party that was ambushed near the pond a few days ago.
In Lower Semine, locate Miller Kreyzl, who can be found working right next to his house during work hours. Directly northwest of his workstation, you will find a wooden shack that opens to the other side. Enter it and turn right, following the arrow marker in the picture above. In front of you, there is a spot for the ‘flour’ sacks on the right, a locked chest to train lockpicking, and a table to the left.
Walk up to the table and look for a dagger embedded in its surface. Hover the cursor over it, and you’ll be able to use the interact key to pick up the dagger and add it to your inventory.
Miller Kreyzl also provides training in all thievery and stealth-related skills like lockpicking, pickpocketing, and stealth takedowns.
You don’t need to progress the Materia Prima questline to access the dagger; it will be on the table regardless.
How to Use a Dagger in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To equip a dagger, click on it in your inventory, and a gear slot on Henry’s equipment screen will be highlighted in yellow. Double-click or drag and drop the dagger to this slot to equip it.
The dagger is not a traditional weapon like swords and clubs and cannot be used in direct combat. Its one and only purpose is to give Henry the ability to perform Stealth Kills. Without a dagger, you can only perform a Stealth takedown, but with one, you have the option to kill someone in cold blood. If you have a dagger equipped on Henry, you will not need to take it out manually; it will be automatically used when you try to perform a Stealth kill.
