How To Cook Food In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The first option with raw meat is to cook it, though this can only be done over an open flame. You’ll often find these open flames inside near a cauldron, with the flames being safe to cook with as long as you aren’t trespassing. This is most commonly found in taverns or homes you’re allowed inside of.
- Cooked food with this method spoils fast but restores more nourishment.
How To Smoke Food In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Smoking food can be done in any Smokehouse, which appears on the map of any town with its own icon. These are also commonly found outside of taverns, but most towns have more than one Smokehouse and are easily found.
- Smoked food is the middle ground option, restoring a decent amount of nourishment and spoiling slower than cooked food.
How To Dry Food In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Drying food is the final option and can be done at any drying rack. These also appear on the map and are often found indoors usually near Alchemy Benches since they can also be used to dry herbs such as Belladonna.
- Dried food restores the least amount of nourishment but lasts the longest, normally not spoiling for multiple days.

Which Food Preparation Method Is Best In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
By far the best option is to dry all of your food, as it lasts many days and the difference in nourishment restored is very small comparatively. Dried food is great to stock up on before going on a multi-day adventure or to somewhere far away when you don’t know how long you’ll be gone for. Having food that doesn’t spoil easily also helps prevent Food Poisoning. Even if you prefer cooking food, you should always have dried food on you in case you end up losing track and needing food suddenly.
