Deliverance 2 Mod Changes One of the Game’s Most Frustrating Features

A new mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has made a big change to the Savior Schnapps mechanic, allowing players to save at any point via the main menu. Some players have described the Savior Schnapps feature as one of the most frustrating elements of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, even if othersenjoy the added immersion.

It’s very early days, but there is already an interesting modding community developing around Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. For the most part, the mods are small gameplay changes that tweak elements of the base game, but it’s certainly possible that they will get more ambitious as time passes. The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance had a vibrant modding community too, and there’s no doubt that the sequel will surpass it given its enormous success so far.

This new mod is simply called “Unlimited Saves Without Schnapps,” and can be found on Nexus Mods from user Ri0rdan. It simply allows players to save their Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 progress from the main menu without having to use Savior Schnapps. Right now, players can only save by sleeping in a bed, reaching mission milestones, saving and quitting, or using a consumable item called Savior Schnapps. If a player spends hours exploring the world and picks the wrong fight, it’s theoretically possible to lose tons of progress with the current system, which would be frustrating for anyone.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Mod Allows Saving Any Time

With this mod installed, the save system works as it currently does. The only difference is that it no longer consumes any Savior Schnapps, essentially making it possible to save at any time permanently. Plenty of comments on the mod’s page pointed out that they think the current save system in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 disrespects players’ time, resulting in a frustrating experience at times. While Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 reviews were very positive across the board, that isn’t to say it’s perfect.

So far, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has been a massive success for developer Warhorse Studios. It was recently revealed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has already made all its money back, putting a dent in the idea that gamers don’t want epic single-player experiences anymore. Three expansions have already been promised in the future, meaning fans enjoying Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 still have plenty to look forward to in the future.
