A resurfaced Battlefield 6 leak that fans now believe to be true indicates that the upcoming shooter will feature a multiplayer map from one of Christopher Nolan’s biggest movies: Tenet. The next Battlefield game, which many are referring to as Battlefield 6, is currently undergoing extensive playtests, but a leak that many brushed off as fake from last year now appears to be legitimate and has plenty of details surrounding EA and DICE’s next Battlefield title.
Battlefield and Call of Duty are often considered to be two of the biggest franchises in the first-person shooter genre, and while Call of Duty continues to churn out new games annually, fans haven’t been treated to a new Battlefield title since 2021. With over three years now having passed since the controversial launch of Battlefield 2042, the gap between mainline titles is becoming the longest in the franchise’s history. However, there’s likely a good reason for that. Battlefield 2042 launched to largely negative reviews as many believed it was a “step back” for the series. EA now seems determined to right its wrongs with the next game as extensive playtests are now underway.

Battlefield 6 Leak Suggests One Map Inspired by Tenet
Earlier this week, EA announced a new testing environment known as Battlefield Labs. The playtest allows fans of the series to sign up and play a pre-alpha build of the next Battlefield game, which will allow EA and DICE to receive as much feedback as possible from the community before the title goes live. However, users on Reddit have now realized that the reveal of Battlefield Labs and the game’s official codename, Glacier, means that a leak from September 2024 is actually legitimate. The original leaker claims to have been part of a private playtest for Battlefield 6 and revealed that one of the three maps they played “resembled the final battle scene of Tenet,” which is a 2020 blockbuster movie by the award-winning Christopher Nolan.
Although the leaker did speculate that the next Battlefield game would be Bad Company 3, that doesn’t appear to be the case. However, one major detail from the leak has now been proven to be true. The codename of the next Battlefield does, in fact, appear to be codenamed Glacier, as fans have discovered multiple instances where files and images are using the name. This means that the rest of the information from the playtester is likely true, including their details on the destruction, weapons, maps, and more. “There were three maps,” the leaker claims. “Eastwood, Tungsten, and Abbasid/n. Eastwood was in the Hollywood Hills, Tungsten resembled the final battle scene of Tenet, and Abbasid/n was similar to something like Dust2 or Showdown from COD 4.”
Numerous other details were also shared by the individual, including information on the game’s destruction, which looks like it could be a huge selling point based on the recent pre-alpha gameplay snippet. Thankfully, some lucky fans will soon be able to test out the next Battlefield game for themselves, as sign-ups for Battlefield Labs are now open. According to EA, the playtest will allow fans to test out some of Battlefield 6‘s most important mechanics and provide vital feedback for the developers.
