Here are the best perk combinations you can find for Episode: Heresy’s seasonal weapons.

All the Artifact perks available have a place, especially the anti-Champion ones, but some are inherently more useful in more places than others. We’ll be going over all the best mods from the Tablet of Ruin here so you have a baseline for buildcrafting during Episode: Heresy.

The Best Tablet Of Ruin Artifact Perks

The Tablet of Ruin seasonal artifact in Destiny 2.

We’re considering two factors when rating the best Tablet of Ruin perks. First is their usability across the game. First, we’ll place greater emphasis on perks that have a place in both solo and team play and don’t require the purchase of DLC or engaging in endgame content.

Second, we’ll be grading each perk on its power relative to the other perks in its column as well as how versatile they are in buildcrafting. Perks that apply a blanket buff rate higher than those that require more work to reach their full potential. We’ve listed them in order of usefulness.

Best Tablet Of Ruin Column One Perks

The Piercing Sidearms perk in the Tablet of Ruin seasonal artifact in Destiny 2.

Column one remains the anti-Champion column, as it’s been since the beginning. Heresy brings back many fan favorites and adds interesting new options.

Artifact Perk

Effect

Reason for Ranking

Piercing Sidearms

Sidearm damage stuns Barrier Champions.

This perk is one of the best anti-Champion options with so many good Sidearms available. It’s especially good with Rocket-Assisted Frames, as its effect doesn’t care what kind of ammo gets used, only the weapon type.

Overload Machine Guns

Sustained Machine Gun damage stuns Overload Champions.

Machine Guns have become a fantastic supportive option, even as Heavy weapons. Guardians have more ways to deal damage with abilities, and that’s opened up the Heavy slot, giving MGs more room to shine.

Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifles

Sniper Rifle damage stuns Barrier Champions.

Getting too close to any enemy can be a death sentence in higher-difficulty content. Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifles makes removing those infuriating Barrier Champions a breeze from any distance.

Best Tablet Of Ruin Column Two Perks

The Volatile Marksman perk in the Tablet of Ruin seasonal artifact in Destiny 2.

Column two is filled with good perks, but the effects of two of them are locked behind endgame activities. That leaves three workable choices.

Artifact Perk

Effect

Reason for Ranking

Volatile Marksman

Rapid precision hits or final blows with Void weapons grant Volatile Rounds.

If boosted: Volatile detonations give class ability energy.

Volatile Rounds have been a Void build’s dream since they were introduced, and there are so many fantastic Void weapons in the sandbox. Add a vast selection of high-quality Void Machine Guns, and getting Volatile rolling is a cinch.

Unraveling Orbs

Picking up a Tangle or Orb of Power grants Unraveling Rounds to your Strand weapons.

Access to Strand weapons isn’t locked behind the Lightfall DLC, and Unraveling Rounds are a great source of supplementary damage that also comes with intrinsic Anti-Barrier effects.

Overclock and Load

Increased handling and reload speed while Amplified or have Bolt Charge.

Arc classes are all about speed. Having this perk active ensures your Arc weapons are easy to use and easy to top off, especially if your main DPS option is Arc.

Best Tablet Of Ruin Column Three Perks

The Dielectric perk in the Tablet of Ruin seasonal artifact in Destiny 2.

Every column three perk is fantastic, but three require weapons locked behind endgame or DLC activities to function consistently. That leaves two perks with more universal value or are simpler to work into builds.

Artifact Perk

Effect

Reason for Ranking

Dielectric

Defeating enemies with Arc debuffs (Voltshot, blind, etc.) grants Bolt Charge stacks.

If boosted: Rapidly defeating targets with Arc debuffs creates an Orb of Power and heals slightly.

Arc is one of the two elements that got the most love in the Tablet of Ruin. If you build into an Arc subclass or within Prismatic, you can easily have this perk at nearly 100% uptime as long as enemies are on-screen.

Hold the Line

Machine Guns and Glaives have faster reload speed and higher stability while you’re surrounded. Any final blows they get heal you.

This perk is incredibly versatile. For aggressive builds with MGs, you can sustain damage output even more easily. Defensive and offensive Glaive setups become the cornerstone of a tanky playstyle.

Best Tablet Of Ruin Column Four Perks

The Maligned Harvest perk in the Tablet of Ruin seasonal artifact in Destiny 2.

With column four, we’re seeing the power build and synergy appear. You’ll need to be more mindful of how you build your classes with the three perks we’ve selected, but do so, and you’ll be much more effective.

Artifact Perk

Effect

Reason for Ranking

Maligned Harvest

Rapidly applying Volatile to enemies allows the next time you deal damage to create a weakening burst.

Ideally, a Volatile build should always apply Volatile to enemies, either by using the Volatile Marksman perk from the Artifact or some other means. If that’s true, you should also always be weakening enemies for that extra damage.

Flashover

You become amplified at maximum Bolt Charge, and its lightning bolts deal more damage.

As long as you’re dealing with Arc damage, you’re building Bolt Charge. If you build into lots of Voltshot and other Arc damage effects, this perk ensures you’re always amplified and dealing tons of damage.

Horde Shuttle

Damaging unraveled targets sometimes spawns a Threadling.

If you can apply Unraveling rounds to your weapon, you can spawn Threadlings, even if you don’t have access to Strand. Threadling builds are even better with this perk active, as well.

Best Tablet Of Ruin Column Five Perks

The Void Flux perk in the Tablet of Ruin seasonal artifact in Destiny 2.

Column five perks were once described as approaching Exotic perk levels of power, and the Tablet of Ruin continues that trend. The three perks you’ll want to focus on with the Tablet of Ruin are useful no matter what you’re doing.

Artifact Perk

Effect

Reason for Ranking

Void Flux

Defeating weakened targets with a Void weapon makes nearby enemies Volatile. More powerful enemies increase the explosion radius.

Paired with the other two Volatile perks in the Tablet of Ruin and the base Void subclass abilities, this perk turns any Void weapon into a powerhouse. Void Machine Guns get special mention here for their sheer output of Volatile explosions.

Heavy Ordinance Regeneration

Sustained damage with a Rocket Launcher or Machine Gun grants damage resistance, plus short-term grenade and melee regeneration.

Ability spam is the name of the game in Destiny 2, and any way to get those abilities back faster is welcome. Both Rockets and MGs are fantastic damage dealers, which makes activating this perk a breeze.

Particle Reconstruction

Sustained damage with Linear Fusion Rifles and Fusion Rifles partially refills the magazine from its reserves and grants a brief damage bonus against the target shot.

This perk effectively turns any Linear or Fusion into a Fourth Time’s the Charm/Bait and Switch weapon on top of what it can already do. That combination was the DPS meta for a long time for a reason.
