This assortment of free mobile games spans a wide range of genres and can provide hours of cost-free gameplay to anyone gaming on the go.

Trivia 360
Standard Trivia Quiz Fare With Great Multiplayer
Developer: Smart Owl Apps
Platforms: Android, iOS
Trivia 360 is a conventional trivia game in that it features multiple choice and true or false questions in 10-question rounds. There is a solo mode and a “head to head” mode in which players can take on a friend or random player. The multiplayer mode is easy to track and players can get straight into answering questions rather than jumping through layers of in-app currency promos and check-in rewards.
The main downside to this trivia app is the excessive ads, followed closely by the constant prompts to turn on notifications. The ads are at the end of every round and are multi-stage ads, making them difficult to skip or even exit when the compulsory ad time has finished.

Erudite
Also Listed As “Trivia For Brain: Logic Puzzles”
Developer: Mioris LTD
Platforms: Android, iOS
Erudite (meaning “having or showing knowledge that is gained by studying” according to Merriam-Webster) is a trivia game with an interesting format. It requires players to match up answers positioned on two rotating concentric circles. It also has category questions, which are a nice touch, and audio questions in the Pro version.
Issues with Erudite include lengthy, unskippable ads at the end of every puzzle in the free version and occasional loading issues. The questions also get a little repetitive, with similar questions reoccurring even in the first 50 levels.

Trivia Crack
A Very Familiar Trivia Game Formula
Developer: ETERMAX
Platforms: Android, iOS
Trivia Crack is a competitive trivia game that sees players matched with other random players from across the globe. One of the nice things about Trivia Crack is that players can nominate areas of interest to ensure that the game caters to a wide range of knowledge sets.
The game offers a chance to keep going if players get a question wrong by watching ads which seems unbalanced. Basically, the player who watches the most ads has the best chance of winning. It is pay-to-win to an extent, as upgrades that can make questions easier are purchasable. That being said, it is the closest thing to the original Trivial Pursuit that players will find on Android or iOS.
3
Quizzland
Conventional Quizzes With A Board Game Aesthetic
Developer: Mnogo Games
Platforms: Android, iOS
Quizzland is a very accessible trivia game with multiple modes, including competitive and solo play. It has one of the most responsible and transparent approaches to advertisement-supported free games encountered in this list. Right from the start, the player is informed about the ads throughout the game and advised that they may be skipped after a short period of time. Being able to skip ads like this is pretty standard, but the skip button appears sooner than in some of the other games. The paid ad-free version is inexpensive in a genre that sometimes requires a subscription fee to remove ads.
The in-game noises provided are particularly satisfying. The main drawback is the difficulty. The game is far too easy at the beginning, even after toggling on Hard Mode. Sometimes the featured image gives away the answers completely. It is a low-stress casual trivia game with a board game aesthetic that sets it apart from the others.
2
Endless Quiz
Also Listed As “General Knowledge Quiz”
Developer: TIMLEG
Platforms: Android, in-browser
Endless Quiz is a purist’s quiz game. It focuses on a steady stream of trivia questions without the bells and whistles that other trivia games have. There is a good mix of questions across a wide range of topics. The difficulty level ranges from insanely easy to niche questions and caters to those who like variety in their quizzes. The statistics section is easy to interpret and allows players to track their progress in an empirical way.
The Endless Quiz doesn’t have a timer in solo mode, which will be a plus for some, but opens the door to cheating. Thankfully, the match mode has a timer and can be quite competitive. While the stripped-back structure is refreshing, there are some quality-of-life features that could be implemented, like clearer labeling for the multiplayer mode.
1
Kahoot!
Official And User Made Quizzes
Developer: Kahoot!
Release date: 2013
Platforms: Mac operating systems, Android, iOS, Windows
Which of the top three quiz apps is the best for players will really depend on what they are looking for. Players looking for versatility and specialist Trivia quizzes will love Kahoot! It doesn’t have invasive third-party ads and players can take quizzes relating to a huge variety of subjects. Businesses, schools, and individuals can also make their own quizzes and use Kahoot! for learning, training, and entertainment.
One of the downsides of Kahoot! is the inconsistent quality of user-generated quizzes. A way to avoid wasting time on terrible quizzes is to focus on curated and recommended quiz lists. Kahoot! is financially supported by subscription services that can be quite pricey. The free version has user-generated quiz sharing limitations among restrictions. For example, a quiz made as a test for this article on a free account was limited to 10 participants.
