If players are in these hills, they may encounter a few rough-looking and deformed men that will sooner shoot Arthur than talk to him, but what might not be known by players is that camping here is like signing Arthur’s death warrant, as the Murfree Brood will be stalking from the trees and will introduce themselves to Arthur.

The Murfree Brood do not like outsiders in their forests, and they advise Arthur to pack up his camp and move on out of Roanoke Ridge. This place isn’t safe, and seeing Arthur threatened at his camp which is supposed to be safe, is quite disturbing, so try not to camp in the Roanoke area to avoid these inbred murderers.

The Ghost of Agnes Dowd

The Ghost of Bluewater Marsh Grieves Alone

  • Location: Bluewater Marsh between 9 PM – 3 AM

Red Dead Redemption 2 has a few supernatural occurrences, but one that players might not have experienced fully is that of Agnes Dowd. Agnes only appears in the foggy weather of Bluewater Marsh around 9 PM to 3 AM, and players who dare to venture through the Lemoyne swamps might have missed her, or even just heard her instead of seeing her.

Agnes can only be seen in the 3rd encounter onwards, meaning players need to repeatedly come to Bluewater Marsh just to get a glimpse of her. Agnes also has over 15 encounters, each furthering the memories she wails about to help Arthur understand her sins and why she still walks the earth as a ghost.

Following the Cultists to Chelonia

Enter Chelonia With the Cultists, East of Cumberland Forest

  • Location: Between Cumberland Forest and Moonstone Pond

If Arthur Morgan agrees to help Mary Linton find and save her brother, Arthur will discover the religious cult of the Chelonians who see safety in turtles and seek to enter Chelonia through a rite of suicide. While Arthur can’t exactly do much for these folks, John Marston can return to the same spot years later to find a new batch of cultists being guided by the Chelonia Master, who wears a turtle shell on his back.

Each of the cultists will jump off the cliff to their deaths one by one, shouting Chelonia as they do so. While John can watch these mad fools leap to their own demise, John can join them, and even shout Chelonia as he falls. It’s a comedic and rare encounter that most might have missed, but doing so is going to result in death.

Red Dead Redemption 2: All Signature Guns of the Van der Linde Gang

The Van der Linde gang in Red Dead Redemption 2 all have distinct personalities and desires, which are somewhat represented by their guns.

Venturing into the woods at night is a surefire way to get attacked by a bear or a cougar, but it’s also a way to try and protect folks from the Skinner Brothers. Some players might stumble across all sorts of victims out in the woods, including a poor couple from Mexico, or a man who’s had his scalp removed. It’s sick, twisted, and rare enough to warrant trying to find these savage monsters.

La Llorona

The Crying Woman of Bayou Nwa Will Kill Those Who Hear Her

  • Location: Bayou Nwa and Bluewater Marsh between 8 PM and 3 AM

Venturing through Lemoyne is always going to be dangerous, but even more so if players dare to cross the swamps of Bayou Nwa at night, for at night, is when the Night Folk come out in search of new victims. Occasionally, players might hear the wail of a woman in the Bayou Nwa district of Lemoyne, but high honor players shouldn’t be fooled by this woman in distress.

Those who venture too close to the woman will see themselves slashed with a knife, for the woman dressed in white will cease her cries and ambush players along with other Night Folk. This rare encounter may have been missed by some players smart enough to not be in the swamps alone at night.

The Vampire of Saint Denis

A Vampire Who Can Only Be Encountered After Finding All His Writings

  • Location: Buildings between the Gunstore and General Store in Saint Denis

Everyone who has ventured to Saint Denis might realize that this isn’t exactly the healthiest city in 1899, nor is it the safest. Those who have explored enough of Saint Denis might have stumbled upon a few mysterious writings etched into the walls of certain areas, spelling ominous warnings and riddles for those who dare to stay. In total, there are 5 of these scribbles scattered around Saint Denis, and finding them all reveals a pentagram.

Venturing to the center of this marked pentagram in Saint Denis late into the night will reveal a vampire, sucking the blood of his latest victim. For most players, finding all 5 mysterious writings won’t be a focus of their playthrough, nor would they know about the literal vampire who stalks the night with an Ornate Knife to instantly kill Arthur should he get too close.
