A talented Pokemon fan has impressed the community by creating their own Raichu card. Every day, Pokemon fans share varied artwork to show their love for the franchise. One recurring way of doing this is creating their versions of the famous Pokemon TCG cards, with results that often catch the eye.

Previously, a Pokemon fan created a Falinks card that gave the pocket monster a new evolution. The fan art became viral because of its adorable inspiration, which was their son’s idea of what it would look like if the monster stood upright. Another one that attracted the attention of Pokemon fans was the artist who created their own Butterfree card, making an adorable illustration that shows the Kantonian critter leaving the cocoon shell of a Metapod.

This time, Redditor DavionJay created and shared their own unique Raichu card. The hand drawn full art card shows Raichu about to attack with its tail lit up by lightning. Pikachu is also present, indicating that the two are in the middle of a battle. With a colorful background, another eye-catching detail is the information that appears on Pokemon TCG cards, such as health, ability, and energy type, all manually drawn and written. In the comments section, other Redditors praised the work, with some saying they would buy the card if the OP sold it.

One of the original 151 Pokemon, Raichu is the final form of Pichu. While other Pokemon evolve through the normal leveling-up mechanic, Pikachu must be exposed to a Thunder Stone to unlock its new form. As a result, its body changes significantly, transforming into a bipedal rodent with dark orange fur, pointed ears, and a long tail. Along with having its Kantonian form, the Pokemon has an adorable Alolan variant. Unlike the regular form, Alolan Raichu has round ears, blue eyes, and an overall design that may remind fans of Pawmi.

Although Pikachu is the mascot of the Pokemon franchise, Raichu is a recurring presence with appearances in the anime. In trading cards, the Electric-type has appeared on 56 different cards, the first time being in 1999 with the release of the first Pokemon TCG expansion. The most recent was in 2022, with the release of the Brilliant Stars set. Raichu has never received an ex card, but it has three GX variants released in three sets: Shining Legends (2017), Hidden Fates (2019), and Unified Minds (2019). The latter stands out for featuring an illustration of Raichu and its regional form.
