A new report indicates that Monolith’s upcoming Wonder Woman game has been rebooted, setting its potential launch date back even further. Monolith Productions, a studio known for popular franchises like F.E.A.R., Condemned, and the recent Mordor games, hasn’t had the same sort of luck with Wonder Woman, a game that is still largely unknown to the public.
Coming off the success of Shadow of Mordor and its follow up, Shadow of War, there was a ton of excitement from fans when Monolith revealed its Wonder Woman title at the 2021 Game Awards. Gameplay details have been essentially non-existent, leaving fans to speculate on what the game could be, potentially mixing in features like the Nemesis System, which the Middle-earth games were known for. Unfortunately, a new report teases that there could be an even longer wait due to new developments with the game.

It’s no secret that Warner Bros gaming division has had a rough couple of years. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was a massive flop, Harry Potter: Quiddich Champions and MultiVersus underperformed, with the latter even announcing that it is shutting down later this year. While reports indicate that Rocksteady is moving back to a single player Batman game, due to the turmoil that this division has seen over the past few years, Warner Bros Games President David Haddid is stepping down.
While it hasn’t been all dire for Warner Bros, with Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1 managing to find an audience, it seems there have been more misses than hits over the past few years. In fact, fans were not thrilled to hear that MultiVersus is shutting down, especially since the game is getting a hefty update that fixes a lot of the issues that players had with the game. Combat and combos are now much faster, harkening back to the original beta days, and has seemingly caused a major boost in player numbers.
