After playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure for just a short period of time, you’ll become aware that the game has a lot of resources and collectibles for you to scoop up. Some of these items don’t really serve a purpose, while others can be quite handy. One such helpful item is the Strawberry Crate.

During the quest Comic Relief in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you’ll need to find the Mermaid Outfit. Here’s how to find all three pieces of the set.
In this guide, we are going to take a look at all you need to know about Strawberry Crates. This will include the best ways to obtain them, as well as what you can do with them. Overall, Strawberry Crates only have one use in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
What Are Strawberry Crates?
These simple crates are pink boxes with a strawberry icon on the front. Rather than opening the crates are getting a reward, you’ll use the crate itself to repair and upgrade cabins around the island. These are little houses that visitors will be able to stay in while visiting.
Each area of the map has cabins that you can unlock for a certain amount of crates. Below, you can check out the cost per cabin repair in each main area.

City Town has a place for visitors to stay (in Rainbow Tower), but unlocking and upgrading this costs Orange Sherbet Crates instead.
Upgrading Cabins
By completing the quest Bigger on the Inside, you’ll be able to use Strawberry Crates to upgrade cabins. This quest unlocks once you have completed Revive the Oasis. The quest itself requires you to upgrade a cabin, so you’ll need Strawberry Crates to do this.
The upgrades can be done from the sign outside of a cabin. This is the same sign you interact with in order to repair a cabin for the first time.
How To Get More Strawberry Crates
There are a few ways to obtain Strawberry Crates. Firstly, they can be found around the island. The crates don’t respawn, but you are able to find them and pick them up. Once you’ve gathered all the crates on the ground, you’ll need to resort to other methods in order to get more.
A great way to passively get Strawberry Crates is to simply log into the game. Each day you log into the game, My Melody will give you a gift, with the Friday option being a Strawberry Crate. This means that, at minimum, you can get one a week just by opening the game.
If there are limited events occurring, you may also get some Strawberry Crates. For example, the Luck & Lanterns event is currently happening for us. During this event, there are daily rewards that provide a total of eight crates.
Lastly, you can obtain Strawberry Crates by completing weekly quests. As their name implies, these are quests that reset each week. You’ll only get a few from doing these quests, but it’s better than nothing.
If Poron happens to be visiting the island, she’ll give you a Time Capsule as a daily gift, which has a chance to contain a Strawberry Crate.
Overall, Strawberry Crates aren’t the easiest to obtain. As such, we recommend holding on to them until it’s necessary to spend a few. Rather than spending them all on cabin upgrades, consider using the ones you have to repair unused cabins.
