Here, you can learn everything about how to unlock the fast travel feature in Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist.

Veol, The Crazed Wolf, is one of the main bosses in the game that you must defeat in order to acquire a useful ability that will allow you to access areas that were previously unreachable, but defeating this boss isn’t easy due to the variety of attacks that restrict movement.

Veol can be found at the end of the Crimson Forest. The Crimson Forest area is quite challenging to navigate through, as there are many portals in this area, and taking the wrong one once can lead you to an entirely different place.

To get through the Crimson Forest, you’ll first have to unlock a switch that leads to the exit. Once you’ve done that, you’ll have to make your way to the exit. Before you reach Veol, you’ll have to cross a section with several abandoned home-like structures and paths that Growth has blocked.

This section is also full of many enemies, so you’ll have to be careful as you make your way forward to the far right. At the end of the section, you’ll encounter the Crimson Forest Settlement Respite, and Veol will be waiting just right ahead of it.

How To Beat Veol, The Crazed Wolf

Veol utilizes melee attacks, as well as movement-restricting attacks that also inflict Shock. If you have any relics that can decrease the Shock’s effect, you should equip them. Veol can also be quite quick on its feet, making it hard to hit it with consecutive attacks when it’s running from one edge of the screen to the other.

How To Avoid

Melee Tackle

The boss will usually use this attack when it tries to get near you. It will rush close to you and hit you with its head. After the attack concludes, the boss will pause for a moment and then either retreat or run to the other side of the screen.

This attack is fairly simple to avoid, as you have to dash just as you see its eyes glow. Dashing in any direction will allow you to avoid this attack, but it’s better if you dash in its direction so you can continue to attack it with ease.

Running Bite

The boss loves to run, and while running from one side to the other, Veol will occasionally try to bite you as it is about to pass through you. You’ll notice its eyes glow for a moment, but unlike the melee tackle, the boss will continue to run away even if you avoid the attack successfully.

Keep your eyes open for the visual cue. As you see it running towards you and its eyes glow for a moment, it’s best to press dodge.

Lightning Walls

Veol will roar, summoning multiple walls of lightning throughout the arena. These walls are at a fixed distance from each other and will damage you while also inflicting Shock if you come in contact with them.

You can pass through these walls by dashing, but you have to be wary of not getting knocked into these walls by Veol’s attacks. Also, try to avoid attacking Veol where you might accidentally end up touching these lightning walls during your attacks.

Somersault Attack

Veol will jump into the air, somersaulting mid-air, before it smacks its claws on the ground. Veol might also spawn tiny spikes of electricity while it uses this attack during its last phase.

Dash in any direction at the point of contact to avoid this attack. It can be tricky to avoid during the last phase because of the electric spikes, as you might accidentally dash into them while trying to avoid the slam.

Instant Dash

This attack only becomes available in the final phase, or when the boss’ HP is below 40 percent. Veol roars, and then instantly dashes to the other side of the screen. It deals a ton of damage.

This attack is a bit tricky to avoid due to the timing, but you have to press dodge as you see Veol roar. You can also start spamming Dash when you see it happen. You cannot counter this attack with the Shackled Beast’s ability.

Electric Fence

Veol leaps into the air to the other side of the screen, spawning tiny spikes of electricity at short distances from each other. Veol uses this attack in the last phase. The electric spikes only last for a short moment before disappearing.

This attack is also quite challenging to avoid. You can try to avoid it consistently by dashing in the direction Veol is jumping from.

Veol has one health bar with three phases, and as the wolf transitions from each phase, it will roar and Lilac will be knocked away. Veol will also be invulnerable during the animation of the phase transition. The second phase begins when the boss has lost around 30 percent HP and the final phase starts when the boss lost about 60 percent HP.

The best strategy to fight this boss is to stay at one edge of the screen, so even if Veol uses any of the attacks that cause it to end up on the edge of the screen, you will still be able to land several attacks. Keep in mind that you can counter all of his melee attacks with the Shackled Beast, except the Instant Dash.

Mind your positioning in the boss battle, and don’t accidentally run into the electric walls. If the boss is too far away, you should try to wait for it to come close to you, instead of going to it yourself. Whenever Veol is too far away, use that opportunity to heal, and once you fill up his Break bar, use all your abilities to deal as much damage to it as possible.

Rewards For Defeating Veol, The Crazed Wolf

The image shows Hati's Charge description in Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist.

The boss battle doesn’t give you anything except a ton of EXP right away. Instead, Veol will ask you to progress ahead and talk to the Elder. As you progress ahead, you’ll find the Elder in the middle of the next section, who will bestow Hati with Veol’s legacy, allowing it to become stronger and gain a new ability.

The new ability, Hati’s Charge, allows you to dash through Growth, unlocking access to areas that were previously unreachable. To activate Hati’s charge, you have to press and hold the dash button while running in one direction. As you do that, Lilac will start to glow, and after a short while, Hati will be summoned, and you’ll be able to ride on it to crash through Growth or enemies.

The image shows that Lilac has just used Hati's Charge in Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist.

You can use jumps while Lilac is glowing, but you have to keep holding the dash button. If you change directions while Lilac is still glowing, Hati’s Charge will be canceled. Once you’ve summoned Hati, you can still jump on platforms while still being on Hati’s back. You’ll have to keep all this in mind if you plan to solve certain puzzles later on in the game.

After defeating Veol and acquiring Hati’s Charge ability, you can now access the Crystalline Realm by going back to the Subterranean Lab Respite inside the Subterranean Testing Site Ruins area. This place is near where you initially fought Lito. From there, you can progress ahead into the game.
