A second worm-like enemy awaits Arlo in Tails Of Iron 2: Whiskers Of Winter, but despite a different classification, your approach remains the same. White Whiskers is one of the most visually distinct areas in the game thanks to the frozen snow-covered aesthetic, but its two major Beast Hunt enemies share striking similarities.

Whether you choose to tackle Ice Breaker or this side quest first, you’ll learn key information about the major monster threats here. In Holes In The Ice, you’ll continue aiding the White Whiskers of The Warren, after previously clearing out the Darkwing threat during A Whisker Away and The Beasts Of White Whiskers.
How To Start Holes In The Ice
After you complete The Beasts of White Whiskers and presumably finish hunting down the frost Death March during the Ice Breaker Beast Hunt, you can move on to yet another one, this time centered on an Icewyrm.
Return to the White Whiskers Hunter in The Warren village area of White Whiskers to get the scoop on this new adversary.
As you head out to leave the village through the right gate, a rabbit will appear in a panic, warning you of the deadly Icewyrm outside the walls.
Restock on Whetstones and any other items or gear you may need to face the Icewyrm.
Your prey is weak against electric and fire damage while using ice and resisting poison, so outfit Arlo accordingly.
How To Defeat The Icewyrm
Once you reach the marker, the Icewyrm will explode from the ground and dive at you, then follow up with a tail slam attack, similar to the frost Death March you faced in the prior Beast Hunt.
Engage it immediately after it slams its tail or keep to a distance if you have a powerful ranged electric or fire weapon to safely decimate its HP.
Back away when the Icewyrm slams its head into the ground – this will cause ice spikes to erupt from the ground, which damage and freeze Arlo in place.
With a few careful hits, you’ll reduce the beast’s HP to 50 percent, at which time it will flee the battle and retreat to the rightmost area of the map; head that way now.
How To Beat The Icewyrm Phase Two
When you arrive at White Whiskers Peaks, take advantage of the merchant near the entrance to restock any supplies you used in the first portion of the battle and rest at the save point in case things go wrong.
Use the grapple point to ascend to the upper cliffs and then vault up the cliff side using the wooden scaffolding across from it to climb even higher. Soon, you’ll be face to face with the Icewyrm again.
Avoid the headfirst attacks from the Icewyrm (aka Mudwyrm Ice) and dodge behind it when it prepares to unleash the ice spike from the ground again. This attack is telegraphed by a glowing red patch on the floor.
With a few simple repetitions of this pattern, the Icewyrm will be defeated for good.
What Rewards Do You Get From Holes In The Ice?
Once the beast goes down, the side quest will be completed, earning you the following rewards:
- Two Ice Wyrm Tendrils
- One Ice Wyrm Tail
- One Blue Paint
- 35 Gold
Don’t forget to loot your prey for even more of the above crafting materials.
