Helldivers 2 Boss Praises Players’ “Brilliant” DSS Maneuver

Helldivers 2 players and the Democratic Space Station didn’t get off to a great start. After weeks of grinding to get the DSS operational, players were left disappointed with what it eventually turned out to be. Arrowhead took it offline to make some tweaks, and it now seems to be working great.

It works so well that the Helldivers 2 community used a brilliant DSS tactic to outmaneuver and eventually crush the Automaton’s dreaded Jet Brigade. While this tactic has resulted in the imminent defeat of the Jet Brigade, it seems game master J.O.E.L. has not taken too kindly to being outplayed.

The Revenge Of J.O.E.L.

The manner in which the community leveraged the DSS is quite impressive. The fact that it’s based on a player voting system makes it all the more impressive. A detailed explanation of how it was pulled off has been noted down by the Helldivers Now Twitter handle. This tactic was so effective that even CEO Shams Jorjani commended the community’s effort.

“I just wanna give you folks a big props for the DSS maneuver you did,” he wrote on the Helldivers 2 Discord channel. “Brilliant move. J.O.E.L. is out to get you now.”

While that sounds ominous, Helldivers around the galaxy are already braced for whatever is going to happen with the Meridia Black hole. There have been a lot of rumours about what the black hole has in store for Super Earth, and with the game turning a year old tomorrow, we might find out pretty soon.

Thankfully, the latest warbond, called Servants of Freedom, has armed the Helldivers with an amped up version of the Sickle, seeker grenades that can act as a drone swarm, and most importantly, a portable Hellbomb.

Players seem undeterred after this tactical masterclass, however. Even if J.O.E.L. summons the entire might of the Illuminate army to take down Super Earth, they will be met with Sickles, hatchets, and portable Hellbombs.
