During the 85th episode of Letter from the Producer Live, Final Fantasy 14 pulled back the curtain on Patch 7.2, the second major content update for Dawntrail. Dubbed Seekers of Eternity, the upcoming Final Fantasy 14 patch will give players new battle content and see the release of two major features announced alongside Dawntrail.
To start the Live Letter broadcast, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida and global community producer Toshio Muruochi addressed an incident concerning the PlayerScope mod. Yoshida and Murouchi stated that while PlayerScope could read the AccountID information in the Final Fantasy 14 game files, it did not expose account information, such as passwords or payment methods. Yoshida confirmed that countermeasures to protect AccountID information would arrive in Patch 7.2 and cautioned against using third-party tools when playing Final Fantasy 14.

Although Final Fantasy 14‘s Crossroads update launched in November, another major update is on the horizon. During the 85th episode of Letter from the Producer Live, Square Enix confirmed that Patch 7.2, Seekers of Eternity, would arrive in late March. New main story content, including The Underkeep dungeon and Recollection trial, were teased during the broadcast. Yoshida and Murouchi also shared that one of A Realm Reborn‘s optional dungeons, The Sunken Temple of Qarn, would be added to the Duty Support system.
Final Fantasy 14 Reveals Seekers Of Eternity Update

Seekers of Eternity will also make some changes to PvP Job balance, and reintroduce the Borderland Ruins (Secure) Frontline map as a “King of the Hill” battle mode. Final Fantasy 14‘s 7.2 update will introduce players to the Arcadion’s next tier, the Cruiserweight division. Players must complete the Arcadion’s Light-Heavyweight matches before moving on to the Cruiserweight tier.
Two of Dawntrail‘s most anticipated features, Cosmic Exploration and the Shades’ Triangle, will also be added in Patch 7.2 and subsequent updates. Cosmic Exploration will allow crafters and gatherers to explore new planets, and new zones will arrive in Dawntrail‘s remaining major patches. Gatherers can also start the Mamool Ja Allied Society quests in Patch 7.2. For battle-focused Final Fantasy 14 players, the Occult Crescent will be the first field operation in the Shades’ Triangle saga. Yoshida revealed that “Phantom Jobs” would be the main battle gimmick of Shades’ Triangle, giving players new ways to tackle the island’s challenges. Examples of Phantom Jobs include the Geomancer, Time Mage, and Cannoneer.
Final Fantasy 14 will release Patch 7.18 on February 25, removing the loot lockout in the Arcadion’s current Savage raid tier. More details about Seekers of Eternity will be revealed in the 86th Live Letter broadcast closer to the update’s launch.
