Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 allows players to rob the homes of NPCs, but one player got caught wearing the armor they stole. Having just been released to amazing reviews from critics and high praise from RPG fans, Warhorse Studios’ medieval RPG sequel, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, is one of the biggest, most successful game launches of 2025 so far and is already being regarded as an early candidate for Game of the Year.
Much like the first game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s attention to detail is nearly unparalleled within the realm of AAA RPGs. The amount of intricate systems at play is dazzling, as players need to look after and manage the cleanliness of their clothes, armor, and weapons, their own nourishment, energy levels, and tons more. The game clings to historical accuracy as well. For example, the newly introduced “handgonne” firearms are designed to be clunky on purpose in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, just as they were in real life at the time.

Lockpicking is one of the harder skills to train in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but there is a farming method to get a ton of XP early.
It seems Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s NPCs are also surprisingly dynamic. On Reddit, Jattmogger shared a story that shows just how deep Warhorse went when designing the game’s NPC logic. Jattmogger robbed a carpenter’s house in Trotsky in the middle of the night, killing the carpenter and his father in their sleep and getting out with around 5,000 groschen worth of stolen goods. Later on, Jattmogger returned to Trotsky wearing some of the gear they stole from the robbery, which was recognized by the carpenter’s wife, who Jattmogger must have missed in the act. This all led to Jattmogger’s execution after the wife reported him to the authorities.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 NPC Recognizes Dead Husband’s Stolen Gear
In the post, Jattmogger mentioned that he had removed the stolen status from the carpenter’s gear before returning to Trotsky, but the wife was still somehow able to recognize those exact items. The stolen gear system was present in the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance, but it was such that only guards and merchants were able to sniff out stolen items. It’s impressive that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 now allows NPCs, at least those who were tied in some way to the items, to be able to notice stolen goods as well. Jattmogger’s humorous advice for players who like to rob NPCs is to make sure to dispatch everybody in the house to avoid a deadly mix-up like theirs.
Many Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players under the Reddit post spoke about their interesting experiences with the game’s NPCs. With so many impressive systems at play, there are sure to be tons more funny and interesting stories to come out as more and more RPG fans flock to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in the coming weeks and months.
