Spear Goblins is an underrated card in Clash Royale. Here are some of the best decks with it to dominate your games in the arena.

While challenging other players during Clan Wars is important, it is not the only way to gain Clan War points. During Training Days, players can set up a strong Boat Defense on the Clan Boat and win points passively if their deck can defend against enemy attacks. This guide will showcase some of the best Boat Defense decks in Clash Royale that can help you push your Clan to the top spot.

How To Build A Boat Defense Deck In Clash Royale

Unlike traditional decks in Clash Royale, a Boat Defense deck is made up of three smaller decks, each containing four cards a piece. To build a Boat Defense deck, head to the Clan Wars section on Training Day and click on your Clan Boat. Afterward, click on any of the empty slots to set up a Boat Defense deck.

You can only have one active Boat Defense deck at a time.

Boat Defense is an automatic game mode where you can’t control the troops in your deck directly. The Princess Towers are replaced with three Turret Towers that fire quick projectiles at enemy units. These Turret Towers will spawn cards depending on which lane your opponent is pushing.

If the opponent is pushing the right Turret Tower, you’ll automatically spawn troops from the right side tower.

The attacking side will have a weaker King Tower with a much lower health pool. If the defending side can destroy the King Tower before the attacking side takes down one of the three Turret Towers, the Boat Defense counts as a victory.

When you’re attacking the enemy’s Boat Defense, you’ll want to plan out your attack depending on which Turret Tower has a weaker card composition. Similarly, you’ll want to build your Defense Deck in a way that they can’t break through before you take down their King Tower.

You can test out your Boat Defense deck by tapping on the deck slot in your Clan Boat.

Best Boat Defense Decks In Clash Royale

The cards you use in your Boat Defense do not level up to tournament standards. They will remain at the same level as they are in your inventory. So, if you don’t have all your cards maxed out, you’ll want to think carefully about which cards to include in your Boat Defense.

That being said, a few deck setups have proven to be more successful in Boat Defense in Clan Wars. You’ll find these top picks for the best Clash Royale decks in the Boat Defense game mode below.

Boat Defense Deck #1 (Strong Offense)

Left Turret

Middle Turret

Right Turret

Giant Skeleton

Pekka

Golem

Hog Rider

Baby Dragon

Royal Giant

Mega Knight

Electro Giant

Sparky

Valkyrie

Spear Goblins

Dark Prince

This deck is all about offense. To be fair, most Boat Defense decks in Clash Royale work better when you put in a lot of win conditions. Instead of trying to run out the clock and defend your Turret Towers, you’ll be able to go on the offensive and take down the opponent’s King Tower with this deck set up.

This deck is as close to Beatdown decks as you can go in Clash Royale‘s Boat Defense game mode. With cards like Golem, Giant, Pekka, and Sparky, your opponent will have a hard time dealing any noticeable damage to your tower before you take down their King Tower and secure the win.

Boat Defense Deck #2 (Balanced Defense & Offense)

Left Turret

Middle Turret

Right Turret

Ice Spirit

Skeleton Army

Fisherman

Electro Spirit

Rage

Mother Witch

Heal Spirit

Skeleton Dragons

Night Witch

Elite Barbarians

Skeleton King

Dark Prince

While the first deck has several win conditions thrown in to overwhelm the opponent, this one features spam troops that work pretty much the same way but offer a bit more defense. The Left Turret uses Elite Barbarians along with three Spirit cards to complement it on the attack.

The Right Turret, on the other hand, uses Mother Witch, which can turn enemy troops into Cursed Hogs and build up a solid counterattack. It’s a reliable Boat Defense Deck that can work well even when you don’t have these cards maxed out.

Boat Defense Deck #3 (Strong Defense)

Left Turret

Middle Turret

Right Turret

Bowler

Royal Recruits

Goblins

Magic Archer

Bandit

Three Musketeers

Barbarian Barrel

Earthquake

Ice Spirit

Dart Goblin

Musketeer

Balloon

The third deck recommended here has a lot of defensive potential to prevent your opponent from breaking through to your Turret Towers. The combination of Bowler, Royale Recruits, and Three Musketeers can easily stop your opponent’s pushes right in their tracks, regardless of which side they decide to attack.

The only weakness with this deck is that it won’t work well on offense since you’re using only one win condition. Instead of taking down the opponent’s King Tower, your goal with this deck is to buckle down on defense and prevent your opponent from getting too much damage on your Turret Towers.

Clash Royale‘s Boat Defense offers a refreshing twist on the traditional 1v1 game mode. The decks detailed above should serve as a solid starting point. Feel free to swap cards around as needed to add your own personal touches to these decks.
