The latest Shift giveaway, announced by Gearbox Chief Executive Officer Randy Pitchford, went live on February 6. The developer-publisher is currently giving away three Golden Keys, which can be obtained via just one promo code: SFRJJ-CRTXB-JBBB3-JBJT3-XKSH6. As is usually the case, this code can be redeemed multiple times, once for every combination of supported game and platform. The newly introduced offer is valid until February 13, at 8am PT / 11am ET.

The ongoing promotion supports five Borderlands games, including the GOTY edition of the iconic original and The Pre-Sequel. Borderlands 2 and 3 are also on the list of compatible games, as is Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. In terms of platforms, the keys can be redeemed for the Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox versions of every title except for Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, which is not available on Epic’s storefront.
Taking all combinations of supported game versions into account, the February 2025 Shift key can be redeemed 19 times in total. As with most Gearbox giveaways, fans can even use the code to claim Golden Keys for games or game versions they don’t own yet. Once redeemed, the keys will be waiting for them whenever they purchase and start the corresponding game. Golden Keys can be used to unlock the Golden Chests found throughout the Borderlands series. This box is usually located in the central hub area of any given game. The Golden Chest wasn’t part of the original Borderlands, but was included in its remaster, where it can be found in the Arid Badlands, specifically the Fyrestone area, which becomes accessible early on during a typical playthrough.
Gearbox is presently working on Borderlands 4, which was officially confirmed to be in development back in August 2024. Four months later, publisher Take-Two Interactive’s financial report revealed that the fourth entry in the Borderlands series is aiming to release during its fiscal year 2026, which runs between April 2025 and March 2026.
