Players must ensure that they wash as regularly as possible, at least using a trough to wash Henry, but ideally washing clothes as well. This becomes especially important if the player relies on either speech or stealth to pass objectives. NPCs are less amicable to Henry if he smells or is visibly dirty, thus making speech skill checks harder to pass. If the player smells bad and has the associated debuff, they may be found during stealth, as the guards can smell Henry.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has a detailed crime and punishment system that creates tangible risk for the player, should they choose to commit crimes. These punishments include getting put in the stocks, getting caned, getting branded, or at the absolute worst, getting executed via hanging at the gallows. The less severe punishments come with a negative reputation, stat reductions and fines.

Players should avoid getting caught doing crime at all costs in the early game, especially in crucial towns such as Troskovitz. Should players be caught, not only may they incur fines and experience a reputation decrease, but the NPCs in the area become vigilant and uneasy. This could make objectives harder to complete, or if the crime is worse enough, make it so NPCs will not interact with Henry the same way, locking the player out of certain quests. Crime is costly and punishing in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and is generally not advised early on.

Saviour Schnapps, as in the first Kingdom Come, is the unique and original way that players must save their game. Players can purchase or brew the potion that can then be found in their inventory. This will be consumed if players choose the option to save from the menu. Saviour Schnapps are scarce in the early game and players may go a while without saving because of their scarcity.
