Your score is cumulative throughout the weekend, so whether you’ve chosen to team up with three other Monopoly Go players or are going this race alone, the races finish at 3PM EST on Sunday, and there are plenty of sweet cosmetics and sticker packs as prizes.

How To Play The February Tycoon Racers Event

Team Up, Or Play Alone

It’s a relatively new feature for the Tycoon Racer events in Monopoly Go, but we’ve now got the choice to play alone if you’d like to! Some players have expressed frustration with teammates who maybe haven’t held their weight in the past, and since the rewards for the weekend are cumulative, you’ll want all the flags you can get. If you’re not keen on relying on other players to win prizes for and with you, playing alone may be for you.

If you’re interested in playing the event as a team, though, you’ve had time to select three other players to join your team before the event begins at 10AM EST on February 7. You can invite players on your friends list to team up with, but just keep in mind that teammates can invite friends to join the team as well, which means your team of four may fill up quickly. Either way, team selection is solidified when the first race begins, so if you’ve chosen teammates, you’re with them all weekend.

Gather Flags From Other Events

Regardless of how you’re choosing to approach the races, either alone or with a team, you’ll still need to collect checkered flag tokens from other events this weekend in Monopoly Go if you’re hoping to participate.

You can gather extra Tycoon Racers flags by:

• Participating in the center banner events, the ones displayed below your current cash total. These tend to be longer and feature more milestones to hit, but they also offer better rewards at the higher levels, such as several hundred extra flag tokens.
• Competing in the daily leaderboard tournaments on the right side of your screen amid the flash events you’ve got active and the icon for Tycoon Racers. Land on Railroad tiles and compete against 99 other players for rewards as you accumulate milestone rewards, plenty of which will be extra Tycoon Racers flags in the daily tournaments throughout the race weekend.
• Finishing your daily quick win goals, simple tasks that refresh at 8AM EST and ask you to finish three easy goals in exchange for plenty of assorted prizes, including but not limited to free Tycoon Racers tokens.
• Collecting your in-game store reward every eight hours. The shop in the Monopoly Go app itself (not the Tycoon Club) offers a freebie that refreshes every eight hours to offer you free dice rolls, sticker packs, cash, and also Tycoon Racers tokens during the event.
• Choosing them as a lap reward as your car makes its way around the Tycoon Racers racetrack. You’ll have a choice between a few items, but extra Tycoon Racers flags are often available through these means.
• Landing on certain tiles around your current Monopoly Go game board, the ones that have checkered flags on them. The number of flags you earn for landing there is decided by the dice roll multiplier you were using when you did so.

Participate In Three Races To Win Prizes

Once you’ve got a good number of Tycoon Racers flags on hand, you’ll want to head onto the racetrack itself and spend your flags to move your race car around the track. You’ll see three dice in a small dome at the bottom of your screen, where you can roll with a multiplier of your choice to determine how far your car will move forward. If you’ve got enough flags, it’s not a bad idea to increase your multiplier to earn points faster, provided you’re feeling lucky with your roll totals.

Each dice roll will move your car by a set amount, and the goal is to complete laps around the track, as many as you can throughout the weekend. As mentioned above, you’ll accumulate lap rewards as you finish whole laps, with the requisite number of laps for the next reward displayed right at the starting line. If you’re playing in a team, everyone gets to choose their own lap reward each time one is unlocked.

Points are cumulative throughout the weekend, with three races to show your stuff and earn your Tycoon Racers rewards. Prizes for the event will be paid out at 3PM EST on February 10 when the event ends, so if you have one bad race throughout the weekend, you might be down, but you’re not out! Once the races have finished, the game will average out which teams (or players) have averaged out into which places, and then reward prizes accordingly.

The top prizes for the team races include not only a purple sticker pack, the rarest of the regular sticker packs in the game, but also a swap pack, a critical prize as we enter the final month of the Artful Tales sticker album season. For both team players and solo racers, you’ll also receive a new emoji of Scottie in a car with his face to the wind, and a new board token featuring Mr. Monopoly in a cool red race car to commemorate the event.
