In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry sometimes takes on a role that’s far above his normal station. In the quest called The Lion’s Den, you take on the role of a Praguer soldier to infiltrate the enemy ranks. Along the way, you try to work out who murdered Chertan, one of the other soldiers.
As part of the investigation, you need to take part in a trial to finalise who killed the soldier. Before that starts, you need to be prepared. If you’re not, and you fail some of the skill checks, the murder will be pinned on you and you’ll be killed as a result.
Who Killed Chertan?
Most of the quest is pretty simple. You just need to follow the objectives once you’ve spoken to the leader and joined the Praguers. You’ll speak to Musa, get info on the poison that was used to kill Chertan, and then look in each of the four suspects’ tents to get some evidence.
Along the way, you’ll find that both Grozav and Crow have stuff in their tents that would allow them to poison someone. You can pin it on either of them, but you’re best to choose one. As long as you can argue the case for why they’re the murderer, you’ll be okay.
We’d recommend choosing Crow as the person you suggest has killed Chertan. All the evidence is there to suggest that he did.
How To Compete The Lion’s Den Trial
Once you reach the trial, you need to be aware that if you fail three skill checks, the murder is put on you and you die. That means game over.
From the start of the trial, you can back Musa up when soldiers are suspicious of him. You’re told to be quiet, then spoken to about why you think he’s innocent.
You’re then asked who you think did it: Lord Grozav of Borumlaca or Corporal Stephen Crow are the two options. We recommend you hoose the latter. Then follow the dialogue choices below:
- Crow went to kill Chertan
- Crow poisoned the wine while Musa wasn’t looking
- You brewed up a potion called Kiss of Death
Crow then fights you all until he dies. The quest comes to its conclusion with you now being friends with the leader of the Praguers. That’ll help the plans you and Zizka came up with.
