Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to roll out on August 28, 2025, according to some prematurely published information on the PlayStation Store. This essentially marks the end of an extended wait for fans looking forward to playing Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eatersince it was announced in May 2023.
Over the past few years, Konami has been working on the revival of its Metal Gear franchise, which hasn’t received an original game since 2018’s poorly reviewed Metal Gear Survive. After remastering some of the classic entries in the series with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, the Japanese developer made its intentions of bolstering the highly popular IP clear by unveiling a remake project for 2004’s Snake Eater. However, despite appearing in PlayStation’s trailer showcasing 2024-slated games, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater didn’t get an official release date announcement from devs at all last year. The lack of movement made certain portions of Metal Gear fans anxious, but the latest leak comes as a big relief.

A brand-new leak about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s release date could point to a launch with some serious competition.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater‘s release date of August 28, 2025, and a new trailer were briefly leaked on the game’s PlayStation Store page ahead of time, as spotted by a ResetEra user. From allies such as Eva to antagonists such as The Boss, the leaked release date trailer revealed fresh glimpses of several key characters in the stealth-action game. Featuring a range of different action sequences, it shows Snake Eater‘s CQC in action as well as a new look at the Shagohod. In addition to that, some of the game’s iconic bosses, including The End, The Fury, and The Pain, were also given the spotlight in the almost two-minute-long video.
It’s worth noting that the latest Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater leak has surfaced at a time when rumors about a forthcoming PlayStation State of Play stream are circulating. Based on that, it is very likely that the original plan for Konami was to announce the launch date during Sony’s event. Despite this leak, there are still some other highly awaited major releases, such as Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, rumored to be making an appearance during the next State of Play.
With Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater leaked to be arriving later in August, 2025 emerges as another make-or-break one for Konami. In 2024, the Japanese gaming giant emphatically revived one of its key IPs with Silent Hill 2‘s highly successful launch. This year, the company will likely hope to replicate the same success with the Snake Eater remake coming down the line soon.
