Franky Has Found A Mural Full Of One Piece Lore
This Mural May Be A Key To Unlocking The Void Century
While exploring the Adam Tree with Ripley on Elbaf, during One Piece Chapter 1138, Franky is introduced to a massive mural carved into the tree. Supposedly, this mural was the drawings of children depicting the past destruction of the world and dates back to One Piece’s mysterious Void Century and has been preserved here ever since. However, despite being the drawings of children, Franky is incredibly awe-struck by the size and splendor of the mural itself.
I gotta say, for a drawing from Elbaf they don’t all look like giants. – Franky
The mural itself features many different pictures that fans believe represent certain figures in both the Void Century and the present world of One Piece. For example, many believe that the Nika drawing represents both One Piece’s Luffy and Joy Boy, the robot represents Emmett, who is alive in both periods, and the horned giant could represent an unknown ancient giant and the modern-day Loki. In the center of the many drawings of characters and ships on the mural is a massive tree, stretching vertically throughout the entire drawing.

However, right at the base of the tree, at the very bottom center of the Ancient Mural of Elbaf, Franky is covering a large portion of the drawing. Whether or not this spot is important is hard to tell at this point, though it seems unlikely that there is simply a blank space where Franky is standing. Being the very center of the painting, at the roots of the tree, many fans believe that something incredibly important could be hiding there.

Firstly, being at the very center of the drawing of One Piece’s ancient history, it stands to reason that a major focal point of the painting would be there. In a mural like this, focus tends to be drawn to the center. Additionally, a few elements of the mural, like the massive tree and a lightning bolt, seem to lead to the exact spot where One Piece’s Straw Hat, Franky, is standing, once again drawing the viewer’s eye to this location. In many ways, the mural itself seems to draw attention to this spot, Oda deliberately choosing to hide it from view.
The One Piece Could Be Hidden Behind Franky
A Clue To The Ancient Treasure Could Be Right In Plain Sight
Due to the importance that this location seems to have, fans believe the One Piece treasure itself could be hidden here. However, to someone who hasn’t seen the treasure before, like Franky, it may look like any other treasure or something that doesn’t look anything remotely like a treasure. Still, the One Piece seems to be one of the few ancient elements of the series missing from the mural. It would make sense if it was actually included and Oda simply wasn’t ready to reveal more about the treasure, so he decided to use Franky to block it from view.
Maybe that simply means this was nothing more than a child’s dream. – Ripley
In the end, although it seems likely that something is hiding behind the One Piece shipwright, Franky, it isn’t necessarily important to the story overall. Still, at the very least, simply seeing the roots of the massive tree may be important to understanding what the mural represents overall. However, it may be a while before the Ancient Mural of Elbaf in One Piece is shown off in its full glory once again.
