Is Civ 7 on Game Pass? Civilization 7 marks the long-awaited return of Sid Meier’s iconic 4X series, nearly a decade on from the last mainline game. Critically speaking, Civ 7 received some mixed responses for a series that is known for its particularly high standards. If you’re not sure whether to commit to the full game yet, Game Pass is the natural next step.
Our Civ 7 review sits somewhere in the middle. Our reviewer, Ed Smith, acknowledges that there are issues with the bloat of 4X games in general, but that Sid Meier remains the irreplaceable king of the genre, despite the hand-holding in Civilization 7. If you want to see it for yourself, this Civ 7 Game Pass news might not be what you’re after.

Is Civilization 7 on Game Pass?
No, Civilization 7 is not on Game Pass. If the strategy game is ever added, it likely won’t arrive until years after its release date, based on previous Civ games.
Civilization 6 was available on Game Pass for just six months in 2023, six years past its initial release. It could be assumed that this was to bring players back to the series ahead of the Civ 7 announcement in 2024. Unless you’re willing to hold out for years, we’d recommend picking up Civilization 7 as we wouldn’t expect it to be added to the subscription service for a while.
If you can’t justify buying it, especially given the early Civ 7 reviews, there are loads of other great strategy games you can try instead. While this Civ 7 Game Pass update may be bad news, there’s still plenty to look forward to this year. A ton of exciting upcoming games are on the way, including Avowed and Doom The Dark Ages, both of which are coming to Game Pass on day one.
