The one problem with the base game is that it’s not possible to scrap everything in players’ sight. However, there are some options at your disposal to make this a reality. Here’s how to scrap everything in Fallout 4.

How To Scrap Everything In Fallout 4

Many players tend to focus on the exploration and combat side of things while traveling through the Boston Commonwealth and meeting the various NPCs spread throughout it. However, scrapping and gathering valuable resources is also a very important part of Fallout 4, as it can allow the Sole Survivor to craft useful items and obtain many upgrades. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to scrap everything in the base game.

However, by using the “Scrap Everything” mod made by shadowslasher410, this becomes a reality, allowing you to scrap entire settlements, grass, trash, debris, roads, sidewalks, and more. Before using the actual mod, you’ll have to change some things in your Fallout4.ini file, which you can find in one of the following locations:

  • For Steam versions: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4
  • For non-Steam versions: C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Fallout4

Once you’ve located the file:

  • Right-click on it
  • Select “Open with Notepad”
  • Find the [General] heading
  • Find bUseCombinedObjects=1 and change the value to “0”
  • Save

This will enable the mod once you’ve installed it, allowing you to scrap anything you want. You can get screws, plastic, rubber, and much more.

Granted, it’s also possible for you to buy almost any components you need from vendors. However, this means spending Bottle Caps that could be put to use elsewhere. Not to mention that every time an object is scrapped, you gain XP, which can help increase your level in certain perks and give you a most welcome advantage against the insurmountable odds of this unforgiving post-nuclear wasteland.
