Knowing how to read in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a privilege. Not every character you meet will be able to read, which is a reality for the time period the game is set in. Henry will regularly be asked if he can read through the game’s many quests.

To improve Henry’s speech skills and become more intelligent, you can spend time reading books and studying. Doing so is very worthwhile, but some books can take a lot of time to get through. Thankfully, there are some ways you can increase the speed at which Henry reads.
How To Read Books Faster
Once you’ve found or bought a book in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, to read it you open your inventory and scroll across to the Books tab. From there, select Study and choose how long you’d like to read it for. To read some books, you’ll need your Scholarship stat to be at a certain level.
If you head back to the book in your inventory after spending some time reading, you can check what percentage you are through the book. Once you’ve hit 100 percent on a book, you can sell it.
How quickly Henry reads books is directly tied to his Scholarship stat. Whenever you use your Scholarship stat in conversations (indicated by the book icon), you’ll earn XP and become faster at reading. Therefore, the more you read and the more you speak to NPCs, the faster you’ll be able to study.
You can also increase your Scholarship stat by buying the Master Studies book from the Scribe near the market in the centre of Kuttenberg.
Finally, if you unlock the Cushion skill in the Scholarship stat’s skill list, you’ll improve your studying speed. The skill gives the buff from sitting an increased Comfort effect of 50 percent. Therefore, be sure to sit down on a bench or bed when reading books.
