While you might not have someone like the infamous Lydia in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, that doesn’t mean you have to go on your adventure entirely alone. RPGs are no strangers to animal companionship, but here, it goes an extra step further.

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, your trusty horse Pebbles from the first game returns, as well as Mutt, the loyal hound from the original game’s A Woman’s Lot DLC, and both are at your service in more ways than you might think. Here’s how you get them.
How To Get Mutt In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Shortly after the opening of the game, you’ll have a side quest to track down Mutt, appropriately titled “Mutt”. This will lead you on something of an investigation to find out what happened to Mutt, which means a lot of travelling and helping people in return, which can be a great way to explore the area for the first time while picking up some work.
Here are the steps to finding Mutt for each part of this quest:
After reuniting, Henry and Mutt will have to either fight or flee, but doing either will complete the quest, and have Mutt now available to join you on your adventures.
What Can Mutt Do In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
Mutt can follow you around as a companion in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and will need regular feeding and pets to make sure you keep his loyalty high. Failure to do so or putting him in harm’s way will decrease his loyalty, and if it gets too low or he gets hurt, he will leave for a short while before returning.
Mutt also has a dedicated Houndmaster skill menu where you can unlock perks and abilities for Mutt. By default, he can follow you closely, have a bit more freedom, help out in combat or hunting, track scents using certain quest items, wait somewhere you tell him to, or head home.
You can unlock further abilities and commands, such as having him hunt for you, seek out points of interest, detect enemies from further away, give you a Charisma boost, or bark to distract someone and divert their attention.
Where Does Mutt Go If You Send Him Home?
If you decide to send Mutt home, he’ll return to either Zhelejov Tavern if you’re in the Trosky region, or to the Devil’s Den in the Kuttenberg region. He’ll be roaming around the location, so speak to either of the innkeepers to have Mutt return to your service.
How To Get Pebbles In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Pebbles is Henry’s first horse that was gifted to him for saving Lord Capon in the first game, and she’s remained with Henry to the opening of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. However, following the opening events, Hans and Henry lose everything they have, horses included.
However, Pebbles can be found again by visiting Semine and speaking with the horse trader. Asking about the cheapest horse will have Henry realise that it’s Pebbles, and he will attempt to explain it to the man. You can either pass speech checks to get her back, or purchase her.
You can only have one horse, so Pebbles will replace any you might currently have, and buying another in the future will replace Pebbles.
How To Level Up Pebbles In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Something you might notice after riding around on Pebbles is people’s reactions to her. Specifically, how they insult her and comment on how she’s a cheap, old nag.
First off, that’s rude. Secondly, if you stick with Pebbles for a long time, she’ll eventually unlock the perk in Horsemanship called Good Old Pebbles, which significantly increases her stats. After this, people will comment on how great she is instead, as they should.
