As with most materials in this game, however, herbs will gradually spoil, decreasing in quality until they’re not as beneficial, and perhaps even detrimental, in the alchemy process. Instead, you can look for ways to prolong the life of those materials, and drying sheds are the best way to do so.
What Are Drying Sheds And How Do You Use Them?
Drying sheds are, surprisingly, often wooden sheds that contain a drying rack, and most likely an alchemy bench, too. These standalone stations are almost always free to use with an open door, so there’s likely no need to worry about trespassing or loitering.
Drying racks will look like a shelving unit with herbs and coverings hanging off them, and they will appear on your compass when you’re close to one.
To use a drying rack, simply approach one and interact with it to bring up a menu of the herbs you have in your inventory. Then, select which herbs you’d like to dry and how many of each you want to select.
After confirming, there are no wait times, and the herbs will immediately be converted to dried variants and added to your inventory. These will now not be classified as fresher ingredients for alchemy, but the condition will decrease at a significantly slower rate, meaning you can carry them around for a much longer time.
Where To Find Drying Sheds In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Drying sheds will often be near a town’s Apothecary, either on the land near the building, or sometimes may be within or nearby without a shed structure. You may even find a drying rack on its own near the shop, so keep an eye on your compass in case it pops up.
If there are no Apothecaries in the village or you’re at a roadside tavern, you might still find drying racks on their own. Check within nearby sheds, lofts, or back rooms of buildings – whether or not you’re trespassing is down to how adventurous you are feeling.
