Easy Riders is the first official main questline for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, in which Henry, Sir Hans, and the rest of the squad
are sent off on horseback to deliver a very important message to Trosky. They all think this will go off without a hitch and plan to drink in a nearby tavern afterward, but that’s definitely not the case. Henry and friends are about to face heap loads of trouble.

Follow Sir Han’s Company
The opening of this mission will kick off with you on horseback following Hans and company. You don’t need to even control the horse this time around, as the game will automatically push you in the correct direction.
Hans will occasionally chat with you, and you’ll be given some prompts to agree or disagree. For now, it seems that these choices are completely optional, don’t affect your relationship with Hans, and won’t impact your reputation.
The squad will reach a clearing near a lake and will meet up with a group of strangers who will quickly begin to question your actions.
What is Your Playstyle?
This conversation will eventually bring up a selection screen where you must choose from three unique playstyles: Soldier, Adviser, or Scout. Depending on the playstyle you choose here, it’ll make it easier to perform certain actions.
- Soldiers will excel in physical weapons and fighting.
- Advisers are great at solving issues with communication and general knowledge.
- Scouts will perform stealth-related actions better than the other playstyles.
First Choice – Why Should I Trust You?
After a couple more lines of dialog, the man will ask why he should trust you. The game will show you a tutorial all about Persuasion, and then you will be given three choices for dialog:
- As envoys, we’re offering an alliance.
- Do we really look like bandits to you?
- As soldiers, we can help you with the bandits.
We did a standalone guide on this single choice, which you can read about here, but essentially, the one correct option that will always increase your reputation, no matter your playstyle, is the second option: “Do we really look like bandits to you?“
Once the conversation comes to an end, you’ll finally have control of Henry, and your next goal is to find out the plan from Sir Hans. However, there’s an optional objective here that’s definitely worth checking out.
Find Out From Sir Hans What the Plan Is
You can follow the objective marker on your mini-map (top of the screen) to speak to Hans, but first, head over to the camp to find your dog, Mutt. Hold the Y button on Xbox (Triangle on PS) to call Mutt to heel. The key will appear on your screen.
After that, you’ll need to find something for Mutt to eat. Go ahead and speak to the man near the pot cooking over the campfire. His name is Oats, and he will give you a nice ol’ sausage for Mutt, but you have to beat a buddy of his at a game of Dice.

However, before the conversation ends, you’ll have to choose how to answer Oat’s response about keeping Mutt under control. The second option is the best to increase Reputation: I’ll bring you something from the Nobles’ Feast.

Go over and speak to Tankard (the man sitting at the dice table), and he’ll set a wager with you. Don’t worry; you can do a free rematch if you lose the first match. The game can take a couple of minutes to learn, but it’s way simpler than it looks.

After beating Tankard, go ahead and give the ring to Oats. Now, you’ll get a nice Smoked Sausage for Mutt.
To feed Mutt, look at him, press the left bumper, and then press A (Xbox) or X (PS5).
Next, go ahead and speak to Hans to proceed with the main path, which just so happens to be some sword training.
Get Kitted Out
Hans will give you a 
Training Longsword
, and you’ll need to equip it in the menu by pressing the down button on the directional pad. Make sure to also equip your Head gear, like the 
Padded Coif
and 
Composite Kettle Hat
.
Once you’re kitted out, hop over the fence and speak to Hans to get the sword-fighting action going.
- Hold down the left button on the directional pad to take your sword out.
- Press RT/R2 to perform a normal sword attack.
- Move the direction of your sword swing with the right control stick.
- You can perform a Chain Attack by pressing the attack button a second time while your first attack is still in motion.
- You can block by holding the left trigger (you’ll lose stamina when you get attacked while blocking).
- To do a Perfect Block, wait until that tiny green shield icon pops up, then press the left trigger. You can do a Riposte by attacking right after doing a Perfect Block.
- The training will end with a fight with Hans. Just keep attacking him and block his attacks using all the info you just learned.
Sit Down by the Fire
After the training, go over to the camp for a pretty lengthy scene with Henry, Hans, and the squad having a grand ol’ time around the fire. During the conversation, there will be three choices that Henry can make to increase specific stats. It’s up to the player which ones they want to go with.
- The first decision will allow you to choose between these skill increases: Strength, Agility, Vitality, and Speech.
- The second choice: Houndmaster, Stealth, Survival, and Scholarship.
- And the third choice: Sword, Heavy Weapons, Unarmed, and Marksmanship.
It’s worth noting that you’ll have other opportunities later on to increase all of your stats, so don’t stress too much about the decisions.
After the chat, the boys decide to go for a swim, so they have to remove all of their gear and armor.

Choosing a playstyle is the closest thing KCD 2 has to picking a class, leaving players wondering which option is the best.
Crouch Down in the Reeds
Hans decides to go closer to some girls he hears singing in the reeds, so Henry has to follow him by crouching. You can crouch by pressing the right control stick. Doing this will make you less noticeable to NPCs.
After following Hans for long enough, a cutscene will play out, showing a group of intruders killing your crew and manhandling a woman. Hans, wanting to be a righteous man, decides to try to help the lady out. This ends with the pair of men being chased by the guards.
Hans and Henry will have to swim away, but unfortunately, Henry takes an arrow to the shoulder. Once you take control of Henry again, the objective marker will tell you to get away with Sir Hans, so just follow him for now.
You’ll eventually have to crouch low to avoid detection by guards patrolling the area. Keep following Hans and carefully make your way through the forest, following his directions.
Eventually, the two will stop to catch their breath, but Henry will notice two enemies standing atop a nearby cliff, ready to attack with a bow and arrow. You’ll need to sprint away by pushing in the left control stick, following Hans.

Once Hans stops running, you can speak to him. Now, he wants Henry to explore the entry point into the rocks.
- If you’re facing Hans, go down the path to the right.
- Follow it until Henry mentions the fissures.
- Return to Hans to find that he actually isn’t there anymore. You’ll see some guards there instead.
- Go back to the path you just came from, turn left, walk under a fallen tree, and keep following the twisty path until you reach a clearing.
- You’ll find Hans there taking a break, leaning against a tree.
Flee With Sir Hans
Keep following Hans until you reach a point where you must crouch under a log he holds for you. A man will appear out of nowhere and begin fighting with Henry.
Just keep yourself alive for a few seconds, and the fight will end with them falling off the cliff. Some cutscenes will happen, and you’ll wake up to discover that the enemy caught Henry’s landing off the cliff.
From here, this will kick off the next main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Fortuna.
