In its first 24 hours, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has already become a huge success for developer Warhorse Studios, selling over one million copies. The highly-anticipated sequel launched on February 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, almost exactly seven years after its predecessor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The gigantic action role-playing game picks up where the first title left off and once again takes players on an epic adventure in the early 15th century in the Kingdom of Bohemia. With many fans calling it an early game of the year contender, there have been very few complaints. But fans are slightly confused by the game’s main menu layout.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Players Want One Change to Main Menu
In a new post on Reddit, user Popcio2015 said they have “just one complaint” about the smash-hit sequel: the main menu. The user pointed out that the “New Game” button shouldn’t be at the very top of the menu. While they didn’t specify what should be in its place, plenty of other players believe it should be “Resume,” as this has become somewhat of a standard for main menus in gaming. As seen in the image below, the layout is definitely peculiar, as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players must scroll through a variety of options before they can hit “Resume.” The original poster even went as far to say that the “New Game” option shouldn’t even be in the menu when a game is already loaded up.
Many other players agree that the placement doesn’t make much sense, with one player even stating that they accidentally wiped a 7-hour save due to the “New Game” option being at the top of the pause menu. “This caught me out last night,” Reddit user Shizzlick said. “[I] died to a bandit, spammed E like a fool to get back to the load option faster, ended up overwriting my 7-hour save.” Other users also pointed out that this was the same design choice seen in the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance, with Reddit user Fresh-Quarter9 calling it a “weird design choice.”
Despite fans being slightly miffed by the odd menu layout, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is receiving rave reviews from players and critics. The highly-anticipated sequel hasn’t been without some controversy though, as the game’s director, Daniel Vavra, has been repeatedly clapping back at some fans on Twitter due to complaints of “wokeness.” While the game currently holds an impressive Metacritic score of 88 and a user review score of 8.5, there have been a handful of users boycotting the game over claims that it is “woke.” These complaints come due to the fact that (like many other RPGs), Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 allows the player to romance multiple NPCs, including those of the same gender.
