  • From now until February 10 the game’s multiplayer and Zombies modes are free-to-play.

Between Warzone and Game Pass, Call Of Duty fans already have options if they want to play without having to buy a CoD game. You can add a third option to that list for a limited time as, starting today, anyone can play Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Zombies modes for free as part of the latest installment’s free trial.

The finer details of the Black Ops 6 free trial were revealed via a post on the Call of Duty blog on Wednesday, and the trial is live right now. That means you can start playing multiplayer and Zombies right now. Well, finish reading this first. Download the Call of Duty app on your chosen platform and there should be a Black Ops 6 free trial waiting to be downloaded within.

Now you won’t die immediately.

Even though you can dive into Black Ops 6’s multiplayer for free for the next four days, there are limitations. Only ten of the mode’s maps are available via the trial, but that’s still a lot, and some of them are the new maps added via season two which has only just begun. Dealership and Bounty were only added last week so maybe you can get in there before hardened players have gotten used to them, emphasis on the maybe.

The free trial also includes Overdrive, a brand new multiplayer option in Black Ops 6 that tasks players with doing more than that’s asked of them in a simple Team Deathmatch. It’s not good enough to just take out your enemies, you have to take them down in different and unique ways. The more unique takedowns performed, the more stars you earn, and the winning team is the one with the most stars, not necessarily the won with the most kills.

Rounding out the new season two content that will be available during this weekend’s free trial is The Tomb, a new Zombies map that continues the new game’s undead narrative. Zombie’s Directed Mode is also available which gives players objectives so that they have a path to follow rather than just manically slaying hundreds of zombies, as fun as that can be.

Black Ops 6’s free trial is live right now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC and will be available until February 10, 2025. If the trial ends and you want to keep playing, you will either need to pick up a copy of Black Ops 6, or if you’re playing on Xbox or PC you can sign up for Game Pass (Ultimate on Xbox) where it has been available since release.
