The NPCs in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are smarter than those you’ll speak to in most RPGs. They all have their own lives, their own personalities, and can usually tell when you’re lying to them.
To pass dialogue skill checks, you’ll need your Speech stat to be as high as it can be. The higher your stat is, the more likely you are to fool guards who are suspicious of you or be able to lie to people in a higher position than you. Thankfully, there are a few ways to increase your Speech stat quickly to be able to breeze through tricky conversations.
How To Increase Speech Stat
Much like other core skills in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you increase your Speech stat naturally in pretty obvious ways. You earn XP through engaging in conversations and passing skill checks, and reading books to improve your arguing skills.
Therefore, to increase your Speech stat quickly, the best thing to do is to speak to everyone you can. Be confrontational and debate with them if you can. That’ll grant you XP towards the Speech stat and make future important skill checks much easier to pass.
Having a high Speech stat also makes haggling on prices with merchants much easier.
You can also buy a book called The Art of Demosthenes to increase your Speech stat. You can pick it up from the Scribe in Kuttenberg, near the market in the centre of town.
Skills That Increase Speech
Unlike stats like Strength and Agility, there aren’t many skills you can unlock for Henry that directly improve his Speech stat. The ones you can unlock are:
