However, suppose you really click with the combat. In that case, there’s a lot of replayability here with multiple difficulties, getting the best rank, or even challenge runs for the truly elite. With the gameplay of Ninja Gaiden 4 being quite similar to Rising, it’s also a solid title to play before you jump into the fourth instalment.

Styles were introduced in DMC3, adding more possibilities than ever before in the series, and the combat felt so crisp and tight to control. NGB completely rebalances the game with new enemies, items, difficulty modes, and a plethora of other changes. All these, except the sadly missing Ninja of the Future outfit, are incredible additions and refine the game to its best possible form. Plus, you get the best version of Mission mode in the series. What more can you ask for? Sadly, it remains an Xbox exclusive, so you’re out of luck if you play on other platforms.

There’s a reason why so many hardcore fans dislike Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, as it still doesn’t capture the original game, which remains an Xbox 360 exclusive. The vanilla Ninja Gaiden 2 has such chaotic enemy encounters with a vast amount of enemies that it still feels fresh to this day. The enemy count makes a huge difference in why the original is a lot more fun.

Plus, most of the projectile weapons were removed in Black, and they’re a treat in the original, especially the destructive Windmill Shuriken. It’s also much more challenging as well, but what if you’re worried about the graphics? Don’t worry because on Xbox One X or Xbox Series X, the game runs at 4K resolution, making it hold up extremely well.
