Whether you sat down to watch the very first episode or have just recently discovered your new favorite show, here are just some anime that are turning ten in 2025.

Assassination Classroom

If you think your high school is rough, you clearly haven’t seen Assassination Classroom. After the sudden appearance of a tentacled monster and its destruction of seventy percent of the moon, Earth is left in peril. The creature vows to destroy Earth next but also offers humanity a saving grace.

If he can teach the students of Class 3E their normal studies—reading, writing, etc.—as well as the art of assassinating, and if somebody is brave enough to stop him, not only will humanity be saved, but they will also collect a hefty reward. Not only does it include some nail-biting moments, there are also some great comedic bits as well.

One Punch Man

However, the two realize that the frequency of monster attacks is ramping up, and they must uncover the truth behind the rumors that Earth’s demise is coming true. One Punch Man is a great twist to the usual supernatural anime we get and is confirmed to have a season 3 this year.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma follows Yukihira Soma, a middle school student who is determined to surpass his father’s culinary skills. But after his father decides to close down their family restaurant and grow his skills in Europe, Soma is forced to enroll in the prestigious culinary school, Tōtsuki Culinary Academy. And with a graduation rate of only ten percent, the heat is on.

Throughout the course of the show, we watch Soma go head-to-head with the other students in cooking competitions called shokugeki and see the growing friendships blossom through the art of cooking. Be prepared for your mouth to water over each episode you watch.

Death Parade

In Death Parade, there is no heaven or hell to greet you in the afterlife. There’s simply a bar. One of the bars, known as the Quindecim bar, is run by the lone bartender, Decim, and his assistant.

In a tower, the poor souls sent to these bars must compete in Death Games with their souls on the line. As they win or lose these games, the secrets of just how they came to be in the bars are revealed and where they go afterward, whether it’s through incarnation or banished into the void. There are some beautiful animation sequences in this show, and it’s certain to leave you with some nail-biting reveals.

Seraph Of The End: Vampire Reign

After a devastating virus wipes out humanity, vampires seemingly start to emerge and take over what’s left of the Earth. Although the virus affected many, children under the age are left untouched and are enslaved by the vampires, being treated as mere livestock.

Seraph Of The End: Vampire Reign’s story is told through the protagonist, Yūichirō, and his friend Mikaela as they try to cling on to the last bit of hope along with the other children of Hyakuya Orphanage. It’s an amazingly haunting anime with some great action sequences.

My Love Story!!

My Love Story!! is an incredibly heartwarming anime that shows that everybody truly can find their person out there. Takeo Goda is a big sweetheart with an even bigger heart. But due to his stature, he’s had some pretty bad luck with the ladies—unlike his friend, Sunakawa.

But after saving a girl named Yamato from a harasser, he suddenly finds himself falling head over heels for her. And after they cross paths again, Takeo knows he simply has to go after her. But with Sunakawa around, Takeo isn’t sure if his love life will turn around.

If you look up the cover art from School Live, you might be confused about why this anime is labeled under horror. After all, the show simply follows the lives of four high school girls and their advisor going through their mundane lives. But not all is what it seems.

Through Yuki Takeya’s distorted reality, we slowly realize that the everyday lives these students go through is actually them surviving the zombie apocalypse. Due to the trauma of witnessing the undead, Yuki has repressed her memories so she can live in a delusion where the outbreak never happened. As Yuki seeks out fun school activities to do every day while living at school, the other girls must work to keep her safe and sound.

Mr. Osomatsu

Mr. Osomatsu originally started as a gag manga series called Osomatsu-kun by Fujio Akatsuka, which ran from 1962 to 1969. The original series followed the Matsuno brothers, who are all identical sextuplets who cause mischief.

The series is pretty faithful in its adaptation, following the six siblings: Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, Todomatsu and, finally, Osomatsu, who is the oldest brother and leader of the group. However, in the show, the brothers are ten years older and are in a more contemporary setting. Each episode follows the brothers through some hilarious everyday and sometimes outlandish scenarios.

We all have a side to ourselves that we keep hidden from others and high schooler Umaru Doma is no different. Although in school she’s the perfect student with good looks, top grades and many different talents, at home she transforms into basically a slob.

She sleeps, plays games, watches nonstop TV, eats junk food, and exclusively drinks cola, leaving all the household chores to her older brother Taihai. This slice-of-life anime is incredibly funny and may just resonate with the inner Umaru we all have inside of us all these years later.

After an encounter with the legendary Ais Wallenstein, a powerful swordswoman of the Loki Familia, Bell vows to become as strong as her and slowly begins to make a name for himself. And the status change means there are plenty of girls to choose from. It’s honestly a pretty silly premise but quite a hilarious show.
