The Special Limited Set from the Digimon Card Game reprinted some incredible cards that many players were looking forward to. Not only that, but the set also included the introduction of the Scramble cards, making frail decks far more resilient and giving already strong decks an even bigger comeback mechanic.

Here are the best cards from Release Special Booster 2.0 in the Digimon Card Game!
While the Special Limited Set was a bit small compared to other main Booster Sets, it was welcomed with open arms, not just by players looking for reprints, but also by collectors, as the set included some amazing alternate art cards that were previously only given out to competitors at regional tournaments.

Purple Scramble
Takemikazuchi Will Never Die
Even though all of the scramble cards are incredible, some are far more useful than the rest. During the format that the Special Limited Set was released, Takemikazuchi and the Seekers line for Loogamon was an incredible deck that could OTK any threat in front of them.
Sadly, the deck did not have any protection against removal effects, making it a glass cannon deck. With the Scrambles, the deck can easily come back after losing one stack. By the time you get your stack out, your opponent will probably lose, but with scrambles, you’ll have a backup plan.

Quantumon
Reprint Of A Great Removal Tool
The first print run of Quantumon was only found in the Resurgence Booster, RB1. The set was Bandai’s first attempt at a reprint set. Even though it made a ton of early BT01 cards available to newer players, the set was a bit disappointing to the rest. Bandai combined the Japanese-exclusive LM set with the Western release of RB1, making it extremely difficult to pull some of the newer cards.
Quantumon was one of those cards, and although the card never saw highly competitive results, the card is still one of the most unique removal styles, and wouldn’t hurt to own a couple of these in case of a rainy day.

ShineGreymon: Ruin Mode
Get Ready For The Loops
ShineGreymon: Ruin Mode has only received one single print and as a Secret Rare card from EX4, the card was quite hard to pull. Luckily, with the Special Limited Set, players can get their hands on this beast of a card.

Special Limited set with an unlimited potential value.
This dark version of ShineGreymon is an excellent level seven Digimon that can round out your decklist if you need another way to remove smaller bodies from your opponent’s board. This Mega Digimon can apply a blanket -5,000 DP effect on your opponent’s turn, disabling just about any Rookie On Play effects. No more searching for them.

DeathXmon
The Cure For Wide Boards
Just like ShineGreymon, DeathXmon was a Secret Rare rarity staple, that a ton of newer players were not able to get their hands on if they started the game after BT09. Although the card hasn’t seen too much play as of lately, any time that the meta shifts towards a wide board meta, DeathXmon will come knocking.
This alternate art was available for Regional participants during 2024, but as those types of events are few and far between, the Special Limited Set is now the best bet for most players.
6
Yellow Scramble
Another Layer Of Protection For The Great Angels
The scramble cards help just about any deck with reduced Digivolution costs and resiliency for your Digimon stacks. This effect is especially powerful when your stacks already have a type of protection effect like Barrier or Alliance for those strong pushes for the game.
Yellow Vaccine and other yellow decks like Three Great Angels can utilize the Scramble cards to their full extent. Quickly Digivolving, extra recursion, and faster stacks are all that yellow decks need. Hopefully, if you’re playing against it, their security is completely dead.
5
Red Scramble
For Your Frail Red Digimon Stacks
Red decks are some of the most frail Digimon decks in the game. They hit hard and they hit fast, but that’s about it. Now with Red Scramble, they can sustain a backup plan to come back the turn after and clutch out a victory.

The Release Special Booster 2.0 brought many pricey cards to the Digimon Card Game. These are the most expensive ones.
Red is already known for Digivolution reduction effects, so Scrambles fit right in. If you don’t have a training card, or Greymon (X Antibody) in the stack, these shiny new cards will help you get there easily. Time to OTK!
4
Jade Memory Boost!
More Consistency For Blue And Green
Memory Boost cards have been staples for the Digimon Card Game since the beginning. They are an easy way to search for a specific Digimon card and can even earn you a refund of memory in the next turn. Sadly, with the resurgence of dual-color Digimon, it became hard to find specific pieces when they were a different color.
The Special Limited Set included brand-new dual-color Memory Boost cards to help your consistency even more. Jade Memory Boost! searches for either a green or blue Digimon, making Imperialdramon even more consistent than ever.
3
Blue Scramble
Maybe MirageGaogamon Will Stay For A While
Every single Scramble card is useful in its respective color, but there is one that gets the most praise above the rest. The Blue Scramble card gets the gold medal out of the bunch and it’s because of a single deck. The boogeyman that is MirageGaogamon.
The deck is already one of the best decks in the Digimon Card Game, but its one fault is that once you destroy the first stack, it’ll take a while for the deck to find the pieces necessary for a different one. With Scrambles, you can now recur the destroyed pieces and strike back the following turn.
2
Gabumon – Bond Of Friendship ACE
The Kizuna Decks Are Back
Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode filled the gap that many blue decks had when it came to a level seven, or ACE card. But now with Gabumon – Bond Of Friendship ACE, or Gabubond ACE for short, you can have different options for removal or attack.
Even though both cards can bottom deck your opponent’s Digimon, if timed properly, Gabubond ACE can out two separate bodies in one fell swoop. Paired with the actual Gabubond deck, this card can be a true menace.
1
Shivamon ACE
Rest Everything!
One of the green decks’ best qualities is spamming plenty of bodies at a rapid pace. Sometimes you’ll be able to Digivolve all the way up to a level five Digimon, but you won’t have a follow-up play. With Shivamon ACE you’ll be able to bait your opponent into attacking without realizing that the unsuspecting Digimon will bite back.
If you pair this card with TyrantKabuterimon, all of your Digimon will be close to unbeatable as the resting effect of Shivamon ACE can synergize well with your giant bugs.
