- Yamper joins Riolu, Cubone, and 13 other Pokemon at Build-A-Bear.
Pokemon has so many different types of plush that you’d think it doesn’t need to work with other companies to create even more. There are companies out there so synonymous with plushes that their products are a category unto themselves. Build-A-Bear is one of those companies, and its already pretty expansive Pokemon collection has just grown one plush larger.
The new addition to Build-A-Bear means 16 Pokemon have now been turned into crossover plushes. A growing collection, but with Pokemon’s Pokedex now more than 1,000-strong, still a very exclusive club. The newest member of the Build-A-Bear club is Yamper, and the dog Pokemon’s plush bundle is available now, exclusively through the Build-A-Bear website.

The one drawback of buying your Pokemon plushes through Build-A-Bear is that they can be a little pricey. The extra you pay for them compared to standard Pokemon plushes, however, is for the unique extras you get with them. Yamper’s plush, for example, comes with a cape and a bandana, both of which can be removed and swapped so that you can dress your plush to match the climate, or just switch things up whenever you want your Yamper to look a little different.

One of the biggest selling points of any Build-A-Bear plush, however, is its ability to speak. Unlike regular Build-A-Bear plushes, its Pokemon plushes don’t have pre-recorded voice clips you create yourself. Each Pokemon, including Yamper, comes equipped with a five-in-one voice chip so that the Pokemon make the same sounds they do in the anime when you give them a squeeze.

Pokemon Yamper Build-A-Bear Plush Bundle
Yamper has joined Pokemon’s Build-A-Bear collection. The Electric-type dog Pokemon’s plush bundle comes with a cape, bandana, and is only available online. It’s also loaded with a five-in-one sound chip so that it makes cute little Yamper noises when you squeeze it.
Build-A-Bear’s Yamper bundle is available now for $65 through the link in the box below. Like I said, a little pricey, but there’s nowhere else you’re going to be able to buy a Yamper plush like this one. If this is the first you’re hearing about Build-A-Bear having Pokemon plushes, this might be about to get pretty expensive. The collection also has an adorable Riolu that was added to the range last November, and an even cuter Cubone that was revealed a month before that.
If the cost of Pokemon’s Build-A-Bear plushes doesn’t phase you, perhaps you’d be interested in the life-size Gardevoir that was revealed last week. The Gardevoir, which is exclusively available in Japan for now, is five feet tall and costs $320. More furniture than plush, it might be the biggest indicator yet that Pokemon is acutely aware of what its fans like about some of its creations.
