Before heading into the massive medieval world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players should familiarize themselves with some of its unwritten rules.

How To Save In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

There are four main methods for saving in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2:

  • Sleeping in a bed.
  • During important moments in the main story such as starting a new mission.
  • Saving in the main menu using a Saviour Schnapps.
  • Saving and quitting.

The main method you’ll want to use is sleeping in a bed, as it can be done whenever necessary as long as you have a bed to sleep in. If you’re just starting to free roam in Troskowitz, simply progress the main story with either the Blacksmith or The Miller to get a bed to sleep on. Sleeping for any amount of time will save your game, and all of these saves can be loaded up from the Load Game option back in the main menu.

Should you simply want to turn the game off and be done for a bit, there is the save and quit option in the main menu of the game. This doesn’t require any Saviour Schnapps and lets you save your progress right where you are to load back in later.

Saving and exiting only creates a one-time save file that is deleted after you load it, so it’s not recommended to use it before a big fight.

Since there is no way to reliably trigger a story-based save, your next option is to save through the main menu, though this will require a Saviour Schnapps. These items are incredibly rare and can be purchased at most merchants, and also crafted yourself using Alchemy. After getting your freedom in Troskowitz, you’ll already have the recipe for Saviour Schnapps in your inventory, where you can learn it to craft it anytime at an Alchemy Bench, the same place to craft other healing potions.

Ingredients To Craft Saviour Schnapps

Saviour Schanpps is incredibly easy to make since the only needed ingredients can be found easily out in the world or purchased from most Alchemy shops:

  • 2 Belladonna
  • 1 Nettle
  • (Wine is provided in the Alchemy Bench)
