For some, drinking alcohol and getting drunk is a core part of life. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, that’s certainly the case for most people. Whether it be guards, shop owners, or bandits, you’ll spot people from all walks of like at the taverns in the game.

However, drinking alcohol is something you have to think about carefully. You can get drunk, get a hangover, and even get addicted to alcohol. So that you’re not over drinking or letting booze affect the rest of the game, you’ll need to know how everything works and how to focus on the positive side of drinking.
All Alcoholic Drinks
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there are a few different alcoholic drinks you can buy. You can get them all from innkeepers at taverns in both regions, each costing just a few Groschen each. The drinks you can buy are:
- Beer
- Cheap Wine
- Fine Wine
- Mead
- Schnapps
- Wine
In some story moments, there will be specific types of alcohol you can drink, most of which belong to other characters. They cannot be bought or consumed at any time.
How To Get Drunk
To get drunk, you need to do one pretty obvious thing: drink more alcohol. The more you drink, the more drunk you will get. As you start to get drunk, a dial to the left of your health bar in the bottom of the screen will begin to fill up.
You’ll start to sway and walking will be harder. Sprinting will become less reliable and your vision will get blurry at times. That’s when you’ll know for sure that you’re drunk.
To stop being drunk, either wait or go to sleep. Sleeping may give you a hangover if you had enough to drink. You can also drink Hair o’ The Dog to eliminate drunkenness.
Positives And Negatives Of Alcohol
There are both positive and negatives to drinking in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The positives are:
- Drinking alcohol delays fatigue but will then make you more exhausted.
- Provides a small strength increase.
- Aids nourishment a little.
But the negatives are:
- It lowers speech and charisma stats.
- Increases conspicuousness, so you’re easier to spot when creeping around.
- You get less stamina when drunk.
- You can’t sleep for very long.
Drinking Skills
There are skills to increase the helpful side of drinking, as well as some that reduce the impact of hangovers. As your skill increases, you’re also less likely to get addicted to alcohol.
Simply, you increase your drinking stat by drinking. You just need to be careful to not overdo it. The drinking skills in the game are:

How To Cure Hangovers
When you wake up after drinking, you’ll notice that the screen is blurry. That means you have a hangover. To cure a hangover, you need to drink one of two potions. They are:
- Hair o’ The Dog – They are bought from Apothecaries for about 20-80 depending on the quality. You can also make them with one sage, one St. John’s Wort, and one Mint.
- Marigold Decoction – They are from Apothecaries for about 20-80 depending on the quality. You can also make them with one Nettle and two Marigold.
Addiction, Explained
If you get drunk too much, you’ll get addicted. To get addicted, you need to start with low nourishment and drink a lot so that it hits max value.
Do this again and again until you get addicted. You don’t want it, though, as it affects how Henry acts. It means you need to carry alcohol at all times.
