Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 does a lot to teach you the basics of combat. There are side quests to introduce you to combos, but it is a practice fight against Hans Capon that is the first combat challenge in the game. When the crew make camp by a pond, they relax by having a fight, because of course they do.

When Does Kingdom Come: Deliverance Take Place?
Ever wonder exactly when and where Kingdom Come Deliverance takes place? Here’s what you want to know.
While you’re using fake wooden swords and Hans is wearing full armor, you are actually able to defeat him. There’s also a trophy and achievement on offer for doing so, you just have to be patient and avoid the surrender button.
How To Beat Hans
The fight against Hans is very straightforward, but beating him isn’t. Since you’ve not learned any combos or any of the more detailed aspects of the game’s combat, you’ll be attacking and blocking only.
With Hans in front of you, you should wait for Hans to attack you. When he does, a green shield will appear in front of him. Once that symbol appears, block to give yourself an opportunity to attack. Once you’ve done that, immediately attack once or twice. If Hans is protecting one of his sides, attack the other.
Where the fight is challenging is in how long it takes to beat Hans. You’ll be blocking and attacking tens of times before you finally beat him. You’ll need to make sure that Hans doesn’t win, and simply be patient.
About halfway through the fight, the option to surrender will appear on the right of the screen. That might make you think it’s the correct way to progress so early in the game, but it’s not. Ignore it if you can, and continue with the fight.
How To Unlock Trophy/Achievement For Beating Hans
The trophy or achievement is a call back to the first game. Called Deja Vu, the description reads: “You defeated Capon during practice. Again.”
Once you’ve beaten him in the fight and the objective shows as complete, the trophy or achievement will pop and you’ll be able carry on with the story. Deja Vu is a bronze trophy on PlayStation or is worth 10 Gamerscore on Xbox.
