Artist Recreates Pokemon Out of Objects

A skilled artist has put together some impressive Pokemon collages that recreate famous creatures like Bulbasaur and Alakazam out of everyday objects. The Pokemon franchise has sparked the imaginations of gamers for almost three decades with its colorful line-up of collectible monsters, with new ones being added in every new game. 2022’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and its later DLC have introduced 120 new Pokemon, bringing the grand total of creatures in Nintendo’s massively popular RPG series to 1,025 as of this writing.

With so many Pokemon to choose from, fans have a vast pool of inspiration to create artwork from. These talented artists have shown off their skills by dreaming up interesting variants and fusions of existing Pokemon, creating new ones out of whole cloth, and even imagining what certain Pokemon would look like as human beings or in a more realistic art style. Fans have even made impressive Pokemon sculptures and themed apparel like custom-painted shoes or homemade bracelets themed after beloved critters like Eevee and its evolutions.

One artistic member of the Pokemon community creates an adorable pre-evolutionary form for the iconic Water and Ice-type Pokemon, Lapras.

Reddit user wotown has taken a novel approach to their Pokemon artwork by piecing together real-world objects into images of Bulbasaur, Abra, and others. Each one is arranged by color in Photoshop, and there are plenty of fun touches to spot, like LEGO pieces or characters like Kermit the Frog. Some Reddit users have compared wotown’s work to the old I Spy books, and there has been plenty of praise for the concept of recreating these classic Pokemon with unrelated items.

Pokemon Fan Impresses With Inspired Collages

2025 looks to be an exciting time for Pokemon, with fans counting down to the launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A sometime later this year. There are also rumors of another mainline Pokemon game being in development for release in 2025, this time for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. According to these rumors, the game in question isn’t a Generation 10 title, but rather a pair of Let’s Go Johto games or a remake of Pokemon Black and White.

It should be pointed out that none of these rumors have been officially confirmed, but in the meantime, talented fans like wotown are keeping busy by making imaginative artwork of their favorite Pokemon. There are still plenty of Pokemon for them to base their next collage projects on, and eagle-eyed gamers are already having fun picking out the individual everyday objects used in each piece.
