It’s almost an art, trying to meet people and make friends in The Sims, but thankfully, a Sim with a higher Charisma skill than others will have a much easier time in social situations, not to mention all the careers whose doors open with the right amount of charm!

The original base game for the Sims had limited options for boosting your Charisma, but with the expansions included in the Legacy Collection, you’ve got a handful of extra ways to increase your Sims’ stats. Whether you’re in the reliable mirror or trying something new, we’ll help with your Sims’ Charisma.

Ways To Build Your Charisma Skill

Adult Sims looking to polish themselves up a bit have several options for becoming more Charismatic in The Sims, which is sure to help them get ahead at their jobs, since most of the careers in the game require at least some Charisma. Unlike later entries in the series, though, you don’t see an impact on your real-time social interactions with friends and family – Charisma didn’t begin impacting the success of chatting or joking with others until the next Sims game.

To increase your charm and become better at all there is to dealing with people (at work, at least), the main thing people do is Practice Speech in any mirror. Though you may want to place a second mirror outside the bathroom for Sims dedicating themselves to the skill, since you’ve got a Room motive meter now and bathrooms can be tricky in that regard.

But like with other skills in The Sims Legacy Collection, this is massively bolstered by having every expansion included in the game, since those added plenty of extra items to give your Sim some variety in their skill-building. If you’re looking to do some skill-building on your home lot that doesn’t involve a mirror, you could consider the Face of Shakespeare Bust, where you can Practice Soliloquies instead of Speech to work on your Charisma (with nods of praise from The Bard himself!).

Want to talk to something living, though? If you’ve got space for a pet in the house, consider buying a pet bird from the Old Town area (or from Buy Mode if you don’t feel like making the trip). Any time your Sim is instructed to talk to the pet bird, you’ll slowly but surely build a bit of Charisma. Feathered friends can talk back sometimes, after all.
